Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
When I first started detecting a year ago I hit this house and got my beautiful 1836 capped bust quarter, I decided to go over this yard again now that I know my machine much better, and got a tiny bleep with no numbers registering, but I figured I would dig it just in case and I'm glad I did, the date is 1777. Apparently there was a swimming hole over there in the early 1800s, the rest of the neighborhood is 1900s

still got some bite left too..A copper coin with that kind of age wouldn't stand a chance most the time in this local dirt round here. Nice one

yea its in pretty decent shape cause it came out this yard in the high spot of town so the ground stays very dry, most my coppers come out the field and are toasty

I think you mean 1771 or its a Counterfeit.

It looks like a 7, but maybe a 1. What would make it a counterfeit?

No Regal 1777's minted, & I've heard of some 1777 counterfeits. Pretty sure its 1771, the 1's often look like 7's.

Good job digging that signal, paid off nicely!!

thank you for your info, the more i look at it, i think it is a 1. by the way what is regal?

Nice copper - It's so cool the site was once a swimming hole in the early 1800s. A lot of good potential there!
