Hi Everyone!! Just started detecting as of 04/12/2013 with a Garrett AT Pro and I love the hobby!
Joined here to be part of the community and learn about my new chosen hobby.

While waiting for my detector to come in I watched allot of You Tube video’s to get my fill…Looked so easy….every hole a gold or silver find….:laughing7:

Now that I have my detector and learning what all the beeps mean its allot harder than it looks detecting…..well that’s not quite true as I have found allot of items just not any silver or gold yet (LOL)

Been thinking of a handle to go by and have come up with “Trashfinder 2” as I have it in all metal mode to learn the machine….I know coming into this hobby not every hole is going to be a good one…but really….. clad pennies…I know with only a couple of days under my belt my dues are not paid yet and my Search-Fu is weak but I’m really doing this for my health & fresh air!

But really….. Clad pennies…Seems like up here in Maine if you drop your change on the ground “they” pick it up….unless its clad pennies…Stay tuned…as I know there is a gold ring waiting for me to find it……

Hi I am in North Central Indiana. I have neglected my detector for quite a few years now and hope to make up for it this year. I enjoy local history and researching my area of the state. I use Whites 6000/Di series 3 and 6000/Di Pro sl detectors. I have had my share of good finds but have yet to find the elusive gold coin.....Gary

Hey everyone anyone know of any good spots in the Hampton roads section of Virginia.

Hello all! I'm new to the site and live in Maryland. I have been detecting on and off for about 14 years. Would love to join up with other mds in the Germantown, Gaithersburg, and/or Rockville area.

Hello , I'm new to this forum thing so please bare with me as I don't type that well. I live in Puerto Rico just moved here and could use any direction on rivers here. Also if any one could tell me how to tune a Coinmaster 5000/d GEB and if its even worth anything would really help. Done lots of digging in a few rivers in northern Cali. Love it. Hope I can find a nugget as big as my head someday.

Hello all. I'm a newbie to the forum and so glad to be a part of it. I live in La Vergne, TN and I am absolutely addicted to detecting. I have no partners to detect with but I am going to try to join MTMDC club at the next meeting. Hopefully someone will adopt me... LOL Happy detecting to all....

Hi from Mason City, Iowa! Been lurking for awhile and thought I better introduce myself. Mason City is in the northern part of Iowa. It's finally starting to get warm and am itching to get out with my new F70. Haven't used it yet, but have been using a Delta 4000. Anyway, hello to all!

Hello! I am from Maine, and about 20 years ago was given various coins by my Grandfather. I kept them in the same jelly jar he stored them, and they have been stored in a kitchen cupboard. I decided to take a peek at them today, and found many interesting coins - I have about 50 coins total. This one looks to be the oldest ... not sure what it is, but this has certainly sparked my numismatic curiosity! DSCN3841[1].webpDSCN3840[1].webpDSCN3842[1].webp

AND ... it has sparked my interest in metal detecting!

Nice coin. I don't know what it is but it looks really old. I've been mtecting since 2004 and I can't get enough. I think you will find that it is a really addictive hobby. Just to dig something from the ground that may have been there a hundred years and hold it in your hand wondering who could have been the last person to do that is such a rush to me that I can't really describe it. Good luck and many great finds...

Hi all,
I live in upstate NY and have been detecting off and on since early '70s.
This site has been invaluable to me. I finally got around to register.
I am looking forward to this seasons finds. Good luck to everyone!

hello im new to metal detecting and am still considering what detector to buy. I like the features of the teknetics alpha 2000 and also the minelab 305 any suggestions would be gratefully received. thank you.

Hello! I had metal detected for years, but now, bad knees, bad back and old age has regulated me to be an armchair explorer, cheering all of you on that get out and hunt. I'm limited to collecting coins. In my search for the best way to start collecting Spanish cobs, I found this forum. I'm looking forward to making friends, discussing coin finds, coin collecting and enjoying your treasures vicariously.
