Weirdest finds ever...

I would get rid of the hummingbird

Laws About Hummingbirds
"If someone is caught violating this law, the hummingbird will be taken away immediately and there is a fine of anywhere between $15,000 (fifteen thousand) and $200,000 (two hundred thousand) US dollars."

Its gone, took it back to where I got it today, told them I didnt want it, they looked at me weird..

sounds like that was surplus from a biology and/or geology classroom

Howdy All, I know it seems insane but here is what the law reads.......

Unless and except as permitted by regulations made as hereinafter provided in sections 703 to 711 of this title, it shall be unlawful at any time, by any means or in any manner, to pursue, hunt, take, capture, kill, attempt to take, capture, or kill, possess, offer for sale, sell, offer to barter, barter, offer to purchase, purchase, deliver for shipment, ship export, import, cause to be shipped, exported, or imported, deliver for transportation, transport or cause to be transported, carry or cause to be carried, or receive for shipment, transportation, carriage, or export, any migratory bird, any part (including feathers, I presume), nest, or egg of any such bird, or any product, whether or not manufactured, which consists, or is composed in whole or part, of any such bird or any part, nest, or egg thereof, included in the terms of the conventions between the United States and Great Britain for the protection of migratory birds concluded August 16, 1916 (39 Stat. 1702), the United States and the United Mexican States for the protection of migratory birds and game mammals concluded February 7, 1936, and the United States and the Government of Japan for the protection of migratory birds and birds in danger of extinction, and their environment concluded March 4, 1972[,]and the convention between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for the conservation of migratory birds and their environments concluded November 19, 1976.
The penalties are pretty severe:
Quote:

Except as otherwise provided in this section, any person , association, partnership, or corporation who shall violate any provisions of said conventions or of this subchapter, or who shall violate or fail to comply with any regulation made pursuant to this subchapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $15,000 or be imprisoned not more than six months, or both

Its hard to define which feathers will get you sent to jail so why take a chance. Hummingbirds are migratory. Some Native Americans are allowed to possess feathers for use in rituals. Google Hillary Clinton Feather Dreamcatcher for the story.

I just wanna know what's in the jars? I see the one with the eggs and one egg looks like it's been partially pecked through by a now dead baby something or other. But what is in the other ones? "Enquiring minds want to know" lol

Actually I looked a little closer, one appears to be a birds nest, the other perhaps a spiders... weird.. going on ebay here tonight, will post link once done.

Does that actually mean that you cant stuff a duck or goose anymore? Sounds strange, that something people have been doing for years, is now illegal.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think that's saying that only the birds listed in those conventions (Great Britain, 1916; Mexico, 1936; Japan, 1972; and the USSR, 1976) will get you in trouble. Not any migratory bird. Now, I have no idea whether hummingbirds are listed in those conventions, but I don't think it's as strict as it seems.

Why would you do a 3 day only listing? If you make it through without someone reporting your listing, it will be amazing.

It was supposed to be 7 whoops. do you suggest a longer listing?

Yup, 7 days for an auction and 30 for a BIN. I do know someone who is very successful at 10 day auctions though.
