Weird Hidden Talents.

OHIO; Yes, I do have a special talent which I have worked studiouly to improve upon since childhood.

I was born lazy and have dedicated my life to not changing, successfully I might add.. I now can sit along side of work without it bothering me one iota. "More grapes please gal"

I'm that way with a bow."Instinct "shooting is the way my Dad taught me to shoot.I was born with a "veil" over my face and they say that is a sign of someone that has ESP.I know well what you mean by "strong impulse's"
 

OK here's wierd....I can turn both feet till the heels touch and are in a straight line.
I can place one foot forward and one backwards ( hurts just a little with the Arth).
I used to be able to tie a knot in a cherry stem with just my tongue.
I can cross one eye and keep the other straight like you.

Gypsy, it is a proven fact, that any man wearing an animal on his head will generally migrate to the prettiest female in the surrounding 25 miles. They believe it has to do with some tribal ritual, showing they are fearless (as opposed to having no fashion sense) and the ability to be a good provider. So simple, even a caveman could do it.
Seriously though, I can't imagine any single guy not wanting to hit on you, if you are "out with the girls"
 

here goes...I dont know if some of these are talents though...

1) with my 50 caliber Barrett I can hit a target at 2500 yds 5 out of 5 last time out
2) have broken 200 straight skeet targets on 9 occasions
3) married and divorced twice..I have an exceedingly good talent at picking the wrong women
4) have two masters degrees and work as a engineer ( not in my field of study)
5) read 500-600 words per minute
6) swam across the Ms River and barefooted skiing back ..( wouldnt do that again)
7) rode my harley across country twice...and never had a flat
8) have none of my teeth left and no cavities
9) used to play guitar in a band and was pretty good
10) managed 3 adult business's and profit went up over 37% when I took over

ooooohhh and by the way ... I am still the same ole guy...just grey'r n wiser'r

I have the keen ability to detect a whole lot of BS.
This comes from years of listening to both of my brothers-in-law.

This depende entirely upon what the target is.etc. I, for example, can hit a man sized target off hand to 600 meters with a pistol., proven and repeatable.

As for hitting a target at 2500 meters, sheesh, think of the variables = temp., variable cross, pro, and con winds, angle of point of aim in reference to the shooter, altitude compensation, ammunition variables, lighting, target contrast, and on and on ---. Any way you post it, it is an accomplishment.that very few can match. Most military are effectively poor shots.

actually it is around 10% of the military that can do this with a scoped rifle... after a lot
of training..

the variables involved in a 2500 yrd shot are around 17 different ones..needless to say I will
not get into them..

but hey, I am not military trained...just almost deaf from shooting 40 yrs..

of course...if you want to try it... feel free to ...

and most people at 500 meters /yards to 2500 yards do use a scope..I prefer a zeiss or
unertl.. offhand if you can do that consistently without a scope...you are a true Elmer Keith
for sure..

as for the 50 statement..5 out of 5 last time out..several times just hit it once or twice out of
5 shots..but still not bad for an amateur ...if I do say so meself...

no BS here..just statement of facts... and most of those mile shots you here about except the ones
in the movies are on flat terrain ...or a flat shot ..less than 3-5 degrees of elevation/deflection and
windage allowance..

HOLA CAZAR: Curious, as a matter of fact I was partly trained by Keith as well as by Bill Jordan and Bill Toney while I was in the Border Patrol at the McAllen, Texas, sector..

One of my big disappointments was having to turn down the cased presentation .44 Mag S&W to Elmer Keith from S&W for only $750, which I didn't have at the time snifff.

yes I heard you mention that one time..Mr Keith was a world class shot...self taught also ..
instinctive shooting ...

that is why most women are good shots..they instinctive shoot..men aim ...there tis a difference

I was not fortunate enough to be taught by masters like that...but....due to a little diligence and
hard work..I have done all right..and a few thousand rounds....and a few new barrels..

talent is everywhere...you just have to harness it and explore your potential..

I have a gal in my beach cleaning operation that we don't think even needs batteries in her Tiger Shark. We can be all walking from the parking lot to the area we have to clean and she will walk aside ten feet or so and pick up a gold ring or chain someone dropped. In the water she always finds more metal than any of us and since we also scoop up paper or anything else laying on the bottom, she beats us there too. It doesn't pay to walk behind her hoping to find something she missed.

2500 meters? You mean yards? As he said? roughly 2300 meters. Yes I know what your saying, my father was good with the sniper rifle in military and has been preaching some on all that stuff.
Also about the military it depends on what kind of military your referring to. (commando, sniper, marines etc)
I believe he uses a scope if right adjusted these will(/can) do some awesome stuff nowadays.(if it's modern) Also if I read right it is a 50 cal sniper rifle? Those are some might nice toys though!


My father has a soft air gun (from WWII? got it from my grand father) I can hit an apple (small one,about 5 cm diameter) at 20 meters, no scope. Quite happy with that. We don't have access to such guns here rather hard laws for civilians and arms.
I know very well that thats not bad...I just wanted to see you reactions. :P

EU my friend. "you posted -->Nicht so gut" . Sigh, no German since college, and there, due to my German teacher, I never really learned it, sigh. She was downright beautiful, and insisted in wearing very sexy short skirts and perching on the edge of her desk. I doubt that a single male in the class learned German. :-[

As for El Espanol, si senor, although when I was courting my Tiger it was simply "Me Tarzan You Jane".

My pistol shooting is in meters. You are correct on the part of the military, most are taught to fire within 200 meters.

Hitting the apple (2" at 20 meters with an air rifle is good my friend. Keep it up. I used an air rifle for small game on some of my expeditions, no noise and no heavy ammo.

Yes, I know about European arms laws in general, and since I live in Mexico where practically no-one is legally allowed arms, i can sympathize with you.

If the Americans don't pull togetherthey also will not have any arms very soon. The old cliche "when guns are banned only the criminal will have arms" is all too true here in Mexico. Violent crime has exploded since banning firearms.

I haven't read any Spanish since about 5 years ago.(that was only basic)

Not many people have firearms mostly hunters have it here, criminality is rather low...At least in my part of the country side.

It's very good with that pistol, a small caliber gun is by far harder to get a good shot at a distant target.
