I used to have an Enfield repro. I vote for ram rod in a fouled barrel.

Grams to grains would convert to over 400 grains and would definitely eliminate a pistol bullet. I confess I know nothing about Enfield bullets, but let's remember to include some measurements and weights if possible when asking about bullets. Bullets are most likely referred to in grains rather than grams, but conversion tables are readily availabe here on the net. Great find. Monty

Noted...but I already knew that it was an Enfield...just nothing about the peculiar shape...which I think has been established here. Green check coming up!

Was just looking through my CW Projectiles reference book and came across a very similar bullet on page 40, illustration #253. It appears to be a 58 caliber Enfield bullet of the same configuration as the one in question. It says in the text that it had no grooves and was lubricated by a waxed paper patch. Looks green to me! Monty
