Pete George is just as much of a detailed in person as he is online(and that's a good thing!) The mister bought a Parrot shell that had been cut in half lengthwise so one could see the case shot surrounded with asphalt and tar and the paper fuse. I knew to some extent how that shell worked and of course the husband did already but TCG's expertise and way of explaining artillery to the average person is why he is so good at what he does and he is so respected in the relic hunting community. Hoping he has a safe trip back to Virginia after the show.

yes, the guy is pretty darn sharp. must have been pretty cool to meet someone like him.

Pretty special guy for sure, then too he met a special couple. Seeing those old relics in decent explainable condition sure add a lot to history.

I missed that show. I wonder if they will be having the one in Dalton,Ga this year? I would enjoy meeting him and fellow members. He sure helps all of us out.:hello:

Knew I should've gone! Being in SC I usually go to the Charleston civil war show. I'll add that one to my list for next time. Would love to see some of his displays and learn

TnMountains, yes there will be a Dalton show in February but not sure in TCB goes to that one or not. SC Diggin' is the Charleston show a pretty good one? I love that area. And that show might be a good one for us to attend. Are there a lot if relics there or is that show more specialized?

I love it! It has just about anything! I love the uniforms and buttons there. Lots of CS relics. Not sure if that's what you mean by specialized but it's a great show that I recommend!

I last year it was in Patriot's Point (where the USS Yorktown is) don't know if it changes places

My husband buys and sells bullets and makes up little Ryker cases of the common items soldiers might use such as knapsack hooks, harmonica reeds, flat buttons ,toe taps and puts them together to sell at an antique booth. He also buys swords and muskets as well and anything CW era but it seems like the relics boxes to sort through at shows are few and far between and its hard to find bullets in bulk or the common everyday items soldiers use. We go to the Richmond show because the items there they find that aren't that big of a deal to those diggers make a good profit for us as just something fun to dabble in.

At the Dalton show I was seeing dug eagle I buttons for around $5.00 and J hooks. All local dug items from around Resaca and Chickamauga. Remind me about the show and if I go and see anything you guys might want will shoot you some cell pics and pick it up for you all.

I remember at the charleston show last year, there were many cardboard boxes filled with bullets for $1-5 apiece depending on the seller
