I spent a few hours at a site with known War of 1812 activity and dug all signals, came upon a spot that was loaded with iffy signals and found a lot of nails and these buttons mixed in. These buttons are primarily War of 1812 Artillery Corps regiment military coat/cuff buttons, also included are a few US general infantry buttons (some of the buttons are in rough shape but considering they are 200 years old not too bad). 28338BBE-A80A-49EA-A36B-6FB3852ADFD3.jpegF4CA4DFB-CFC0-4F58-B008-274FF21160B1.jpeg59E02009-E511-4424-B902-5F7D8180E8B8.pngD41657B4-CDFB-4E24-AB7D-18AFBC9D4078.jpeg3EF95E6A-5404-4D15-9F4F-7FF86FF51B4F.jpeg

Bwalks, first, A Big Welcome to You to the Tnet forum from Georgia. Congrat's on a Great hunt and the Saves on the War of 1812 buttons and the other relics. Was this at an old home site? It makes one wonder if these belonged to an old veteran. Very Well Done. They are all in good shape too. These will really display well.

I should dig more iffy signals :icon_thumleft:

Thanks everyone, I definitely plan to revisit the site in the future. I wish I had more days of detecting like this one, I felt spoiled pulling button after button out!

I'd be happy with 1 of those at a site. Congrats!!!! Hogge

Great haul  I love the military buttons from that era. I have a few of those, but would love to dig more!

Took one of the buttons that was sure was a goner with the sheer amount of junk on it, tried a bunch of different cleaning methods prior but did a CLR soak and it turned out pretty nice. Thanks everyone!

I would've pooped my pants to have found one of those. Wow, what a great haul. Whatever you do, don't wake up!

it's what dreams are made from, great dig
