Got out on Thursday and the weather was awesome after a few morning showers. The temps jumped up into the lower 70's FINALLY! I made my way out to a tavern site that dates back to the early 1700's to try my luck. I headed to a corner in the field with the tavern site being about 75 yards away. I started finding relics from the mid to late 1800's. I'll take it but not what I was looking for on this day. That all changed when a solid 11-37 popped up on my Minelab Etrac. Out of the bottom of the plug I saw that beautiful silver site we all love to find. BAM! I'll take it.

Went to a couple of coin shops in my area and they were really no help. There was not a lot of meat left on this coin (reale?). From their best guess, they said it was a 1 Reale. Now, I will leave that up to you colonial guys and you know who you are lol. Any and all advice is welcome, I am humble lol. The dime is for size comparison. Thank you all and HH!

There's plenty of Spanish silver to be found in Henrico Wes. I dug a couple in Varina on the James a few years back. The Cittie of Henricus, which was founded in 1611 used to be in Henrico (before the Dutch Gap was dug) so there could even be hammered Brittish silver in Henrico!

Funny that I am reading your comments Joey, I found a 1800 Carolus IIII lol. It is in wonderful shape! Will post tomorrow when I get home from fire station.
