Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!I'm not exactly positive as to what this is..
But I believe it to be a vintage Union Pacific Railroad cash box.. If anyone else has information they would like to share that would be great..
Possibly.. But I would think from what you said about it being to light.., would apply to a tool box as well.. Something for me to look into tho.. Thank you for sharing.. Appreciate itCool old box. Since it seems to lack any way to lock it, I am doubtful it is a cash box. The material also seems to be too light weight for a cash box. Thinking more like a small tool box.
I was thinking for some kind of specialized tool or a few tools. The size wouldn't allow it to be a full blown tool box.Possibly.. But I would think from what you said about it being to light.., would apply to a tool box as well.. Something for me to look into tho.. Thank you for sharing.. Appreciate it
GREAT POINT !!!Have a look at first aid boxes images. The older ones had only a single latch as yours.
Yes it was buried.. And I found it along a river bank.... And thank you my good sir.. Appreciate it..All cash boxes did not have a locking device. Some just had a latch. Some boxes were just made for Fire protection. I would like to know what type of area it was found ? Was it buried of just in a dump type area ?
Thanks for sharing THIS IS INTERESTING !!
