Vietnam Vet Denied Second Amendment Right

Which reminds me of a thought I had, I am doing a bunch of stuff at once right now, so it slipped my mind.

A mental health doctor can have a person indefinitely detained as long as he/she see fits.
End of story.
That one doctor can, without any other means, imprison a person for the rest of their natural lives.
Sure, there has to be a hearing.
But what is the hearing? A judge looking at what the doctor produces as evidence.
And what will any judge tell you? "I am not a mental health expert, I will follow what the expert says"
And who do they view as an expert on the situation?
Why, the very same doctor that pushes the MHT petition through probate.
Look it up.

The very nature of that precedent, coupled with an increasing hostility towards the combination of veterans and those who view their government as broken by doctors that WORK for that government?

if you don't see this is troubling when looking at the history of manipulation of control by government entities, I can't make it plainer.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Do you have any experience in the mental health field or are you just another Google browsing uneducated that thinks he is an MD?

If anybody actually cares to know how the process works...ask me a question.

If you just want to rant and rave...find another topic that does not involve veterans. That is scared ground where my feet fall.

SACRED here, also...

I am waiting for either of you to relate your combat experiences or how you can relate firsthand to a combat wounded veteran.
Tell me about your life or death experiences.
Tell me about how dead you would be without your M4 or M9 or M203.
because you know what I have seen? Posing by headshrinkers or MAYBE REMF fluffers.
If you concerned about publicly posting it, you can PM me.

You don't get it man! We are healers!

Mental Competency... already know about SSDI Appeal Process.
Actually, for the "defendant" (yes that is what they are called after being petitioned in this state) there IS none. You see that is the Catch 22 and what I am trying to explain. THEY are considered "incompetent" thererfore they HAVE no say. Nice, huh?
However their family, (and thankfully the family is who generally appeals) there IS an appeals process. But is is VERY expensive and time prohibitive. They make it that way to discourage it.

And another awesome fact?
If you were active duty and saw a doctor ONCE, at the beginning of a tour about something (And military doctors are another awesome topic) they will take a letter, email or telephone interview for 5 minutes and MAIL you a psychoactive drug prescription and refills. For a year.

You've never done JACK for me.
You are bandaids.
A line item on a DoD report to show how tolerant the government is.

CR, YOU have PTSD...? There IS no cure for PTSD; with TX, and some Meds, the "pain" can be managed.

On paper?
Yep.
TBI too. And no vision in my right eye and 80% hearing loss in my right ear.

Enough said, I apologize. There is help for you my friend. If you walked into my office I would embrace you. There are those that can help. Don't push us away...we care.

yeah, ok.
I have said too much and I think we all got a little too personal on this topic.

You can't get that from console gaming Rebel mate. He definately shouldn't be allowed near a gun though, even in my totally unmedical experience! What ya think?

If you want free help...PM me. I cannot establish a doctor-patient relationship with you but I can send you in the right direction. You are not the first on this forum I have offered this to. I always have time to help a veteran.

I am working on it. I am fortunate enough to have done enough before and after my service to allow me private counsel and the possibility of staying out of the VA system.
But i thank you for your offer.

And I cannot possibly imagine what you might have to add on this topic, but I imagine it stems from your vast SBS/SAS experience or possibly from your vast knowledge of how Americans should exercise their Second Amendment right gained from a lifetime of living in the UK and Denmark. Bugger off M8.

I also have TBI, and hearing loss 80% left ear, 60% right ear; LIP READ in my "Work"; had double vision once, after 2 1/2 months in "locked-in-state COMA; ventilator, tube-feeding. Over 20 years ago.
