Victorian Picture Frame?

I found this at a 1700's house this summer. I was going through my 'what's it' bucket today and happened upon this mess. It was twisted like a pretzel. I annealed it with my mini torch and through the course of about 45 minutes with a small hammer and wooden tools was able to get it back to shape. I'm thinking it is a small picture frame or maybe a wall switch device cover?

I thought about that but definitely no attachment points to be found. This piece is stamped material and appears to be copper.

Yes, I do think it is a Victorian picture frame. Your frame would be used on a sixteenth plate tintype photo, which measures basically 1 5/8" x 2 1/8. Neat find, Breezie
