My hunting buddy doesn't post so I'm posting a VERY unusual find he made yesterday. It's a 1937 class ring that must have been lost when almost new because it has no wear.
The unusual part is that a tree root grew right through it! ( The root & tree were dead.)
He found it in a large woods that border an older park.
Enjoy!

That is one cool find. It sure looks like the tree claimed that ring and put it on it own finger....Matt

What a cool find  I love these types of finds, very unique. I think a nice little display case for it and that thing would be on my desk as a conversation piece for the rest of my life.

That is an awesome find there!

I would leave it just the way it is.....and display it.

Cool find, kind of creepy but cool. Did it scream like a mandrake root when you pulled it out of the ground. :o

You didn't happen to hear a creepy, scratchy voice whispering "My precious, my precious" did you? That's a very cool find and I would definitely keep the root in tact. A great conversation piece, but if you decide to find the owner, good luck!

I've seen something like that before. In the Ripley"s Believe it or Not...A farmer's wife was planting carrots with her husband, she lost her wedding band. When it came time for harvest, one of the carrots had her wedding band on it.

Anyhow, let your buddy know that is one impressive find. That's on in a Million. Congrats to Him and Nice Pics...

That is totoally awesome! I like the carved finger idea....I also think it is cool just the way it is, but I would definately keep it on the root! Maybe you could sell it on ebay.......I hate ebay, but an aged grilled cheese sandwich with Jesus on it sold for like $32,000 or some rediculous amount! Heck of a remarkable find! 8)

Very unique find!!! Congrats!

BTW, what part of Iowa are you in? I live SE of Des Moines about 40 miles.

HH,

Hmmmm....I didn't know the "Blair Witch" went to school in Iowa and graduated in '37.....
Wonder how she died...... :tongue3:
