@ tnmountains, and crispin. I understand adn I agree with both of you, but still many people who start out non profits were not "rich" to begin with. Yes, it is good that people are trying and making good on caring for vets, etc. But lets say if I was to do the same thing. I could NOT justify paying myself a million or more a year salary because the money is there and I need to be paid.
So what is wrong with someone head of the organization to have a salary of $100,000 a year? People can still live comfortably on that kind of salary! Why should an exec of some organization have to have million plus a year salary? I don't see any justification in it.
I know and understand that the non profits, especially veterans oragnizations aree watching with a fine tooth comb. But as I said. What are the salaries of the execs? After all they are in charge. Yes, wounded Warrior and other organizations like it do things for soldiers, road trips, concerts, and everything. As far as advertising goes, expense money for travel of vets, etc., it is still all tax deductible so they are not really spending any money for that. I feel most of the places that these organizations cater at no charge for the veteran to have a day just for him/her. I said MOST, not all but I know a couple of places here in Texas were the Wounded Warrior Program had contacted the place for an outing get away for some vets and the owner of the place DID NOT charge Wounded Warrior. I don't remember what place it was, I remember seeing it on the news and some of my friends at the VFW mentioning it a few days later. That was a couple of years ago.
I am glad however there are organizations out there for wounded vets and their families. But I would actually be curious as the income some of these organizations pays their execs!
