LOL LOL you guys are nuts!! hehe... I swore i would never post on this site again, but this was just too funny not to repost too... here is a pic that was still on another site from that time range it was a 16 copper day in april 2004.... not the 18 copper day about a month later... the coppers here were from 2 diff. spots one was farm field the other was from a spot along the delaware river you can tell the river coppers because most of the time they come out shiney and worn from being dragged across the sandy bottom in the spot i was detecting at... I was also on an electrolosys kick during that time and ruined some good coppers now i dont clean them at all...the silver and other dark coppers came from a 1752 farm site in New Jersey.
Now the 18 copper day was interesting from this point where i lived in Pa. there were 29 county parks most where on old estate sites over the last 30 years you had to get written permission from the county to detect in their parks the headquarters which has been in the same spot for 30 yrs. was at a spot called "core creek park" in Pa. so I drove there to get the permission form it was about 4:30 in the afternoon when we pulled up to the headquarters it was a giant old stone mansion from the 1700's ... so I got the slip and walked out the doors and realized it was getting late and only had a few hours left to detect.. about 60ft. from where i parked the car was a corn field that was park property so i decided to detect there as soon as I put the coil down and walked 5 ft. i got my first copper and you know the rest. I only wish i could have detected it again but soon after i moved to missouri and told others about the spot and they had great finds.
The point is I learned a lesson that day hundreds of detectorists had to go to that spot to get permission for 30 yrs. and not a single one took a chance in an obvious spot so ever since then I purposely detect the obvious spots sometimes I get nothing other times I get alot...
The forum I got the picture from has posts of people still going to that spot even now and finding good items.
I did have a pic from that day here but somehow its gone i didnt remove it.

Ive seen jd's finds on another site , he is the best ive ever seen , a master .

Thanks for the update I knew you were the legend they claimed you were well done any tips for potential legends

look at me mommy.

JD, you were the coppa king when you lived in PA. Even though you couldn't hunt the site too much after that, you still were able to excavate quite a few keepers.

thanks zoyboy... heres a pic that has been posted on t-net before.. its a pile of over 100 coppers that i havnt even i'd or gone thru yet I knew moving to missouri would stop the days of finding many coppers although a few times here i have found a copper or two... every once in a while ill take out the bag and clean and ID a couple... :) hh all jd

Wow.

I'm still unclear as to why such a Talented detectorist as yourself would decide to never post on this site again...

That is disturbing to me, but perhaps that's because I love this forum and I want talented members to stick around.

If anyone is interested in filling me in on this, my PM lines are open.

Best Wishes to you, JD.

JD, that is an impressive amount of coppas. I do see what could be some American half cents in there.

The fields in Bucks County couldn't hide a coppa away from your search coil.
