Lenin token?

I suspect it has something to do with the growing influence of Socialism and Communism on organized labor in the 1930's. But I can't prove it...

P.S. It does look sorta like the "The Lenin Prize".

That really does look like Lenin. I wonder if the "MC" stands for Michigan Communists? That a weird and cool find!

I'd had that same thought, but had no luck. Tried Minnesota Communists too (being nearby). Also wondered about the squiggle beneath the M and thought it might be an S, so I tried the above with "Society", all with no luck.
Are we sure his chin/beard jut out enough to be Lenin?

Okay... everybody is thinking it, so I'll be brave and say it.

Hey, how about a few pictures that are in focus?

Maybe that is an S instead of a J ... the Michigan Child Study association had their 10th annual convention in 1935 with "150 delegates in attendance".

The child study movement was founded by psychologist G. Stanley Hall. That portrait bears a resemblance to him -- but the beard seems too short so I'm not sure. Here is a medal with his likeness-

I still think it is Lenin. I did a little more reading and Ann Arbor was a hot-bed of Socialist activity in early 20th C. The Michigan Socialist Club was a student group back then. They published a paper in the early 1930's called "The Student Socialist", but there wasn't much info I could find. It seems many of those organizations changed names often.
