I’m sure there’s more to come on this story. It was originally reported that raw diced, peeled, and whole peeled yellow onions from Taylor Farms had been recalled for suspected E.Coli contamination and that Taylor had supplied onions to McDonald’s locations impacted by the current outbreak.

However, McDonald’s is now apparently saying that Taylor’s distributor (US Foods) is not a supplier to their restaurants and the onion recall is therefore not related to the outbreak. Onions are still regarded as the likely source of contamination though, given it’s unlikely that there would be simultaneous undercooking/hygiene failures related to the beef patties at multiple outlets.

I hope they mean ‘Angus’ burger. Or maybe not.

I feel for the people who’s have gotten sick. That’s terrible. Almost as terrible as the “food” from McDonalds. One thing I am surprised to hear is that they use real onions? Real onions must be cheaper than onion flavored plastic.
