Hit the Hayfield for a long hunt in the cold. I found what I believe is a King George, just not really sure (it sounded nice) I also found two Fatty Indian Head Cents, both 1859, a 1881 and a 1876 Indian Head a silver wash button along with a couple small ball buttons. I found the thing I keep wanting to call a gun barrel, I just can't because I really don't know what it is. I have looked all over it for marks finding nothing. If anyone knows please chime in. The one round thing with a hole off center has letters on it that say waterville (I think) lots of question mark in my finds today. It might be awhile before I go back to the Hayfield. I stopped on my way in and gave the farmer the 1825 Classic Head Half Cent I found, he has that look in his eye looking at the stuff I give him. I bet he will someday have a detector in his hand.

Enjoy the pix

Well, if you are stuck inside for a while now, you can certainly say you went off well!
Lots of nice finds.

Ya ever wonder what are great, great, great fore-fathers might would say if they knew they went through
all they did so their great-great-great grandkids would spend days running around fields and digging up the
stuff we do? LOL :tongue3:

The hayfield looks like a good old spot. Hope you can get back to it before to long! Congrats on the finds! More await!

Congratualtions on the old coppers!

Thanks for helping me feed the dragon through reading your posts Brad. Plenty of coins dug during the hunt. The barrel looks like it may be from a toy miniature cannon.

Congrats on some nice finds
Thanks Art

Thanks, but I often wonder if Ben Franklin was at some of the spots I hunted, I know for a fact that George and Martha Washington were at a place I hunted quite a few times.

Congrats again :)
Thanks bud

Thanks, I'm still looking for silver coins, none have been found yet.
The finds are spread out all over that site, I just started grid searches about four hunts back, but it is very hard to know where I left off and where I began. The other fields I drag my shovel behind me and it leaves marks.

Nice score on the oldies..
Thanks

Thank you

Nice finds. Was a little cooler today. Hope a Treble Gilt is there waiting for you in 2017.
We think Jackalope found one while he was there.

Thanks

Thanks Kevin
The guy I was hunting with yesterday has been hunting for 23 years, he posted on the FB group that he thinks it is a handle for a stamp? It is very heavy, thick. I scratched it to see what metal looks like and is steel. I'm going to post it on "what is it" forum

Thank you my fellow field hunter

Great to see such success! Like Loco said, inspiring!

Well done Brad.

Two fatties is really good. I hope that you get back out there, but the weather might prevent that.

Best to you brother!

Congrats on a successful hunt. We both had a 4 IHC day!
Thanks congrats on yours and good things come in fours! lol

Nice copper. Probably a Charles 2nd! ;)
Thanks buddy

Best to you brother, Sunday I'm going to a 32 acre site that I believe no one has ever hunted, farm field, had corn in it this year (stumbles city) I hope to find some good stuff. Owner and maps show for a good day as long as I'm on the right side of the plow, lol

Nice finds brad, good job giving some to the farmer!

Bummer when you can't get enough detail for an ID, but could very well be KG as you suggest. Great IH haul! Two 1859's in one hunt is sweet!
