undetected grounds

Hey all. I really hit the jackpot early this spring. I met a farmer who has been a wealth of info, he is 78 years old, lived here all his life, and has a great memory. He has now showed me 12 old home sites, 1 old church site, 1 old school site and 1 old town site. The best part is, all but the old town site is undetected, and i have permission to detect it all. So far i have found a 1916s merc, an 1899 v nickel 5 old trade tokens 6 wheets, and an 8 foot buck saw, just to mention a few hilights. Ill post some pictures just as soon as i can learn to use my new digital camera. OH ya he also showed me the farms old dump site with lots of bottles and goodies such as the baby buggy i brought home, and wagon jack. Watch for pics.

Wow!!! Those are some really nice finds. Keep us posted on the farm finds! Matt

Awesome finds! Guess you didn't need help with the pics after all. Love the buggy and deer pin, too bad the merc. mint was S but maybe it's brother D is still hanging around. Looks like there had been a fire at some point, judging by the condition of the tokens-too bad they're out of shape but can you tell what they are for? Congratulations-looks like a very long spring/summer is in store for you. 8)

Stoney 2 of the tokens say PRING-PARSONS CO LEWISTON IDAHO, and one i cant read but the small one was used at the mercantile so im told. I guess it makes sense cause i was detecting where the store use to stand. The farmer has pictures of the town, church, and school so i can make sense of the cow pasture and farm fields.

Where's this at....uh....exactly? Kiddin WOW!! Great finds!! What an oppurtunity! Wanta see more! HH

very ver nice. You really need to treat the old guy to something that would be special for him. Sounds like he is enjoying your company and being able to share with you. Nice job.

What you might try is letting him run a detector for a while, either share yours or if you can come up with a 2nd one. Bet it''' light his eyes up to dig up something on his own. He's mentoring you-reverse the role for a while. Sounds like there's more than enough there for both of you. HH

Excellent job sod buster,

thanks for adding/sharing the pics!

This farmer has become a good friend to me, and since weve met i take him a pot of stew, smoked fish, jerky and such. Truley this is not a one sided deal. He really enjoys the hot meals every now and then.

WTG!!!
Sounds like you've found a friend and some great spots...
Very nice finds... Good luck next time out!!!

Awesome finds! Can't wait to see what you dig up next! Thanks for the good pics, looks like you got the camera down pat! HH 8)
