Koreth Bell. Running a search on Koreth, the city of Innsbruck, Austria comes up. Running a search on Innsbruck bell/bells two bell foundry museums come up. Bells have been cast in Innsbruck for centuries apparently.

According to their site the Gasthof Koreth in Innsbruck has been has been in business since 1493. Souvenir bell? Seems plausible. Ring for room service.

Thanks Buddy, but they could ring this bell until there arms feel off and no one would here it where I find my things at :laughing9: But could be on something though might be the real deal.I'll check up on it. Also wonder how it would ring anyway.Looks like it hangs down to far for it to ring also made of lead wouldn't be very loud. :icon_scratch: This site has showed me some old stuff as far back in time as 1500's.

It looks like the bottom of an old corkscrew.

Souvenir corkscrew from the Gasthof Koreth Hotel?

Not so sure it would hold up for that Big C. :icon_scratch:
Is it pewter or is it lead?

Doesnt the center piece look twisted?
Big C,it's lead and yes center is twisted. Now you will need to think old on this cause no one would of been around this area in a very long time. Only way there is by boat it's what I do.This area is miles from anyone. And all other finds are from 1500's to mid 1700's with no modern thing at all except plastic or things that have floated up there.

How long have they been using corks in bottles? Its just a wild guess. I had a corkscrew with the open side that made me think of it..
A long time I'm sure. How they got them out back then :dontknow: But earthenware or pottery would of been used back then and most would of had big corks I would think :icon_scratch: The onion bottles would be the only glass type I can think of and they would of had a smaller one.

It appears to be made from several different pieces. I think Koreth is a good guess on the letters but I see no connection to a bell. I wish we knew the other word.
I know as I said I posted it awhile ago now but never got it figured out just slid out of mind tell today. The two objects I've posted are purdy much all I've ever not figured out or got answers for.And may not ever :laughing7: But that's cool to only not have these two figured out from all the others.Or at least all the others that matter to me.

One other thing the twist is were you see it I do not think it continued the whole way down.As at the end it flatens out and becomes straight.

Also looked at it some more and think in stead of KORETH it is _NDERTH I think there is a letter that has been removed from the place that is cut on it then more writing under that on top of the rim :dontknow: and more writing under that around the rim it looks like. The other one looks close to the whole one but just a little differrent and can't see no writing on it.And looks like it was tried to be cut in half is why it's squashed.

I think BCH is correct; it looks like a vintage corkscrew. I have one at the shop, and will post a pic tomorrow. On the item with the leaves, can you pop the iron crud off the back without damaging the piece? Breezie

Yea I would like to see one like it Breezie if you don't mind,The other piece is way to thin and brittle to get the iron off the back.If the two are vintage what age are you talking?

It's pure lead now
And the piece coming out the bottom is flat like a paddle would think it be hard to get started in a cork like that.
Also it's so soft if I wanted to I could just mash it in my hand. Can't see it being strong enough for cork screw but if you guy's think so hay Im game. :laughing7:

Ill wait to see Breezies. I am just guessing but I dont think it has to be that strong. The sharp point would obviously be broken off. The inside moves up and down with this style.

It could have been lost at a picnic. The one I had was pewter so Im not sure if they were pure lead. Is yours lead Breezie?

Did you find 2 of them? ??? Is that the same item?

Some pics of the letters may help.
Yea I'm not tying to be a smart a$$ or nothing and I realize that it is hard to understand want I'm saying but this place is in the middle of nowhere and not a place to have a picnic either not that type of beach. But I don't know what it is and anything is possible.I know that for sure.Don't take me wrong guy's. :-\ Just tring to work it out as best I can.

It looks very old. Could the hole in the side be eaten out by corrosion?

Are the 2 items the same in your opinion?

You found it on the beach or on an island? Are we talking saltwater environment?
I guess Big C,but do I really think so I'd have to say no.Being lead and I've found plenty of it as old as the time I'm talking and none ever was eat away. And all pewter I've found that old flakes and falls to pieces does not eat holes in it.
