Hit a local elementary school this morning (before the weather got hot). Your basic 1964 vintage with ball fields, and tot lots. Research indicated an old home site on the property (and sure enough, I found some older wheats there). 1936, 1944, 1956. Mostly a lot of iron though...

So I moved to the other side of the ball fields, and found a hot spot. Two large cents within 10 ft of one another... and also a silver dime, an ipod shuffle, and a brass phone bell (not pictured). Both LC's are pretty toasted, but one has a very clear 1845 date... the other is a Draped Bust.

The LC's were maybe 5 inches deep. Found the Ipod shuffle between them (and at the same depth). Funny how things go some times.

Barely scratched the surface. Needless to say, I'll be going back.

Got back to my Elementary school today, and decided to re-hunt the small area that the LC's came out of.

Set the F70 up for slow recovery (deep) mode, and listened for faint signals.

No more LC's... but pulled another 7 wheats in about an hour and a half (out of a pretty small area).

1946, 1949, 1925, 1942, 1952, 1927, 1911

(where's my silver...? I earned it)

This place seems very coin dense...

I've used this detector for quite awhile, and I'm still learning. Deep (7+) wheaties in acidic soil, ring up like Zincolns. (low 60s)
