The comb like item was found at a historical freshwater beach where i had previously found musketballs and a hundred year old coin. The other item was found on a saltwater beach. Both look like they attach to something. Any ideas/help will be much appreciated.

NolaKen is exactly right on his ID. During the Victorian period, woman wore all different types of hair clips/barrettes as their 'crowning glory.' They ranged from simple to most elaborate and anywhere in between. Some had cameos, pearls, and other jewels, while others were plain. The base materials varied too from gold & silver to brass and other lesser valued metals. There were odd barrettes too, like spoons, knives, and keys. Your appears to be a comb. If you GOOGLE Victorian hair clip barrettes, you'll see a huge variety. Neat find, Breezie

Thanks for the info!! How old do u think that is?

The Victorian era was so named by the political career of Queen Victoria. She was Queen from 1837 to 1901 (her death.) Your hair barette could fall in between those dates, but judging by the closure, I'd say 1880's to the turn of the century. :) Breezie
