Been working on this deal for 1 year, picked it up this week once court gave approval of the deal.

A good friend's (95 yr old gym buddy) daughter was executor of estate of their friend who passed away 1 year ago, It was tied up in probate till this week..

2005 Toyota Tacoma Access cab V6 with 6 ft bed. It has 161,800 miles on it.
We settled on $2,000 cash, and I pay for the repairs which total $750. Replace both front wheels bearings, tuneup, flush and fill radiator, and replace all filters, oil change already done by estate and she threw in a battery guaranteed for life..

Clean car fax, no body damage and no tears on inside

With price, tag, taxes, and title transfer and the repairs I'm in it for a grand total of $3000.00.

If it was for sale up here the price would be $10K or $7100 US.
So you did really well.
Great trucks.

Her father is a good friend I met at the gym, he is 95 now and goes to gym every day when possible.

We met little over 2 years ago and I told his daughter that since I live 1.5 miles from him and she is 25 miles away to call me any time she is concerned about him. He lives by himself in home he built, his wife passed 10 years ago.

She gave me the best deal she could that the estate lawyer would allow. She took truck to Toyota dealer to have it checked over and they came back with $3000 estimate.

I told her to tell dealer she had to get estate approval and leave, I knew they were trying to rip her off. I had a private mechanic look it over and he confirmed they were ripping her off. They told her it needed new water pump and change timing chain since they were changing water pump and $1500 other repairs.

Mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with pump, not a drop was leaking, even weep hole was dry, we let it run for hour on drive way and not a drop of water/radiator fluid after hour, no oil leak either. None of the other issues they listed were real except replacing the filters and flushing radiator. Add to that they even missed the wheel bearings going bad I heard it and mechanic heard it on our test drive. Toyota wanted $1000 to change front wheel bearings when I called to inquire, my mechanic says $180 plus parts.

I changed wiper blades, added freon to AC and added blind spot mirrors.

I bought truck because it was real hard to get 3 detectors and scoop in my Miata and not worry about someone cutting the top and steal them, use to be free to park on beach at Daytona and New Smyrna beaches, now it's $30 a day.

I also enjoy saltwater fishing and it's hard to get three 7 ft surf rods in Miata and roll windows up when it's rains on the way home. 🤣

I could not do without my truck!
I have owned 4 sports cars, MG Midget, Austin Healy Sprite, 2 Miatas, 4 vans, 3 were full size Chevy customized, 55 and 57 chevy Belair, 70 Roadrunner, 3 Volkswagens, several miscellaneous cars, this is first pickup I have personally owned, although I drove company pickups for 20 years.

I will add a custom stereo to the pickup.

Once I'm comfortabke truck is dependable I will sell my 2006 custom Miata.

What a buy. You guys get amazing car prices there. That'd cost $15,000 Aussie easy here before fixing issues.

Yes it was a great deal, she told me she would just give it to me, if she could, but because it was part of estate she couldn't, court lawyer had to approve the deal.

Her father is a good friend, we would sit and have wine and gooda cheese when I visited and I would see him 4 days a week at gym I go to ( he goes 3 days to different gym), and I have helped him many times with TV issues, phone issues, and different issues he had.

He called one morning telling me he had been sick all night, he had called 911 but they had not shown up. I told him something wasn't right, 911 would be there. Told him to sit down and I will be there in 10 mins, I had just got out of shower.

On way to his home I saw an ambulance parked on side of road so I stopped, asked if they were on call, they said no so I asked them to follow me. I got to his home and got to him as they were pulling in driveway, and calmed him down and reassured him 911 was there.

Long story short, he had had a minor heart attack according to hospital once they got him there. He had cut his blood thiners dose in half without telling anyone including me.

He told me cut it in half because he heard it caused erectile disfunction, I told him "Jim, your 95, that should be the least of your worries".

I have taken him to hospital a couple other times for different issues, but none as life threatening as the heartattack.

Jim is a really great guy, very polite and also a conservative too.

That's awesome! Talk about perfect timing seeing the ambo's. 👍

Great deal and comes with a tool box. I knew you were after it. Might keep your eyes open for a camper top. They are around and really nice for hauling gear. Congratulations.

"Taco's " certainly have their fans.

Told my Chevy dealer to match my price on a Tacoma about 30 miles away on a Colorado or I'm gone. They must have been hungry just as Covid was starting.
Still sometimes think the Tacoma would have been better.

Use the money from the Miata sale & get a paint job & a fiberglass capper. I can't imagine life without a pickup truck. You'll be hooked. You have bought one of the best trucks ever made.

Probably skip the paint job, too much money, will get it detailed and waxed see how it looks then, I will get a rear topper.

I will likely do a black wrap bra on hood, that will hide the rock chips on hood. I will personalize it, add custom stereo and new speakers so I can stream my classic rock tunes.

I added front tag and decal on back window that says Treasure Hunter.

Will sell the Miata and use it's funds for few upgrades and bank the rest.
