We have completed an upgrade of TreaasureNet.com to the latest software. There are still lots of upgrades coming and still lots of work to perform. The site is not done upgrading yet...

  • We still have to re-index the search engine, that is ongoing. DONE
  • We have to reoptimize all images to .webp format, that is ongoing.
  • We still have some bugs to fix with some custom add-ons, that is ongoing.
  • We still have to fix up the templates/skins, that is ongoing.

The new software should be faster, but the rebuild processes are running in the background and that can slow the site down a little.

You can customize the look with the icons in the header. You can choose different background images, a fluid width, as well as a light or dark mode. To do so, click the following icons in the header.

We will update this thread with news and as we finish features and fix bugs.

Thank you for your continued support and patience!

it's hard on the eyes , I hope to adjust.

The site now supports a dark mode, as well as different background images/colors.

Check the "Customize" icon in the header as well as the gear icon that lets you go into dark mode. Both of those options should give you a lot of customization.

Edit: I have updated the first post with an image to show you where to click to customize. Hope this helps.

thanks for the info , much better now at full width , darker screen.

I also like to browse via full-width... we may have to make that the default.

Well done all. That seems to have gone very smoothly, but... "We have to reoptimize all images to .webp format". Ugh... call me a Luddite but that's another irritation for which we can thank Dr. Google.

In this situation, it's a real benefit. Especially for the people on mobile... Here's an example. Check out these image sizes. Keep in mind, the PNG and JPG files are already _heavily optimized_ because I ran pngquant and jpegoptim on them. It optimized them as much as possible for their formats.... then you see the webp size, which optimizes them to webp and the file sizes are much smaller. Every byte counts on mobile especially... and the before and after is quite large.

Code:
-rw-r--r-- 1 nginx nginx 252K Jan 15 22:37 tnet-bg-2.jpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 nginx nginx 35K Jan 19 12:39 tnet-bg-2.webp
-rw-r--r-- 1 nginx nginx 243K Jan 15 22:37 tnet-bg-3.jpg

-rw-r--r-- 1 nginx nginx 253K Jan 15 22:37 tnet-bg-4.jpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 nginx nginx 36K Jan 19 12:39 tnet-bg-4.webp

Just logged on and thought it looked different.

Love the new look especially the dark mode.

Keep up the great work guys!

I guess I'm missing something with the colour adjusting. I changes the border but the rest of the page 95% stays the light bright peachy colour.

There is a dark skin, there are also other background options. If you change to the dark skin it should be a dark gray background color. Here's a screenshot.
