VERY NICE find. Like E-Trac-Ohio and others said do not clean it. Be sure to post more info on it when you get it please 111

How strange. That is the same thing my cousin down in Lardbelly Flats is called. But we just call him Bubba.
They made a little movie once ... some may have heard of it... about a man also named Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs.

Thank You all for looking, Some great points of view to be sure. I appreciate it:icon_thumright: Wonder why the silver acid test didn't say it wasn't silver? :violent1: When I find out, I will post the info. in the meantime... More finds on the way!

I did not clean it, I rinsed it off that's about all.

Yeah it may be in fact silver... it has the look for sure... i did not doubt the possibility of it being silver... it is just IMO again not that old.... and i mean as in 1715 old.

Although very very very worn, I've found many of these sterling silver friendship rings from the 1960's & 70's.

Very Nice!
IMHO it appears it might be pewter. Over the years I have dug up a few pewter items in the 1715 [and others] locations. Perhaps you could take a few shots as you turn the ring? This way we can get the entire visual with a better chance one of us may recognize an image. Thanks

Not from the 1715 fleet....im about 99% on that !! It would not hurt to show it to the people at mclarty museum. These rings are common good luck rings....they can have a number of symbols on them elephant, horse shoe, 4 leaf clover, etc. Etc. I have several that I've found including gold, and silver ones. Please don't take my post as negative.....im rooting for ya to have found a genuine 1715 treasure ring....I just don't think this is one. Good luck out there....persistence pays off keep at it, and happy hunting !!
Hey BARt! Good to hear you chime in.

To the OP- this guy knows.
