2025 big year for the story of The Lost Frenchmen's Gold. if i could bring some local knowledge, anything in the San Juan Mountains/Carson Forest is a bitch to find. Sangre or Wets are more single ranges and approachable to the east, even fun. But looking West it ain't easy finding buttons and horseshoes...

i got locals saying 50 years ago we had 20ft snow and -50f temps... so life around here in 1790 must have been hell. its no wonder the Utes gtfo for winter... big task ahead changing US history with finds related to this fable.

It is the roman numeral 5, I have discovered a few of these roman numerals in my adventures in the mountains.

this is not definitive imho, there is a tail at the bottom, it looks like if you trace the whole indent top to bottom it appears like the shape of the letter Y. idk if there is erosion at work here. also note what looks like a carved arc at the top of the Y. the bottom line to the V needs to be looked at

Who even knows were this carving site is at for all I know it could be Siberia. If I had a dollar for every carving I looked at and was asked what it meant I would not have to treasure hunt. We were not the one's who carved it so we do not have a clue what it was meant for plus it is a horrible photo.

That is a cipher symbol message, but it's not going to help you if you don't understand what it means? Im going to say with confidence that what you found is no where near the treasure. I'll tell you this much , it is part of a clue that pertains to the actual cipher map that Leblanc ( I don't know if I spelled his name right?) left behind.

I thought one of the established elements of the story is that the French miners had multiple cache stes with the intention of "gathering them as we go" as they made their way South to the treasure fleets. This was one aspect (of many) that leads me to feel this might be a treasure that's one and the same with the LUE.

Yes they did burry their gold until they had a secure way to take it. But this not associated with the LUE.

You don't need to reverse this map. It can be read just as you're looking at it. This cipher map tells you everything you want to know, once you find the location. Ciphers are amazing! They are made to hide things and the only way you were going to figure it out was to get specific information of the location so you could figure it out. But it is made so you won't figure it out without knowing what the symbols really stand for! Even with the amount of information that has been gathered about the story or the map, was not enough to brake the cipher. Today there is a greater possibility that you can figure it out. I saw the video yesterday on utube and they exposed the cipher to my knowledge. It only took me one hour and 45 minutes to decipher the map. Don't waste your time looking for this on either 1 or 2 of the so call treasure mountains. If Randy Bradford is willing to learn how to decipher this map? I'll glad to teach him.

It’s amazing you figured it out in such a short time. You must be really smart or just have ancient mystery Templar knowledge (or maybe both?). What’s the YouTube video that led you to this great revelation ?
