Hey everyone,
Awesome night on the beach.
Took a friend out to show him how my detector works last night. Low tide wasn’t until 9:30 pm and we didn’t get out there until about 10:00. It’s been cold and rainy so I wasn’t feeling it but he really wanted to check it out. We grabbed the gear and the headlamp and went for it.
I was explaining how it worked and we found a couple pieces of junk. Just after the second piece of junk I got a hit that I thought could be a coin. Dig up a little sand and...no way! A silver half dollar! This happened to me last time I night hunted a different beach in this area too! (That time it was Seated). I couldn’t believe it. 3rd hit in at a completely random beach community, BOOM, Walking Liberty Half!
We were fist bumping and celebrating and he had no idea why haha. I had to explain that finding a silver half dollar is a rarity, especially right out of the gates like that. We got completely lucky to walk right over that spot on a massive beach. It’s my first Walker in over a year so I was especially pleased about that as well.
We got a couple other fishing lures, pieces of junk and a roached wheat penny.
Date on the Walker looks like 1944 but it is in rough shape.
I told him most days aren’t like that. He probably thinks this hobby is a piece of cake now! Lol.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting everyone!
