Too Hot to Dig...

With all of the lichen growing on the face of these stones, maybe taking some photos using IR techniques would open up it's secrets without scrubbing off the growth. If one were to try to scrub off the lichen, they might just damage the carvings, too. So I hope oddrock, you don't do any scrubbing. ;D

looks like a bear and the face below the X is staring at that odd rock. haha

Okie,

Thanks for the enhancement/observations.

Seeker, Hadji,

Both items do appear to be looking back at me looking back at them....they win the stare down almost ever time!

Shortstack,

I totally agree about not digging the lichen out to keep from destroying anything. (it would also appear fresh and that me or someone else made them the lately?)

Old dog,

After going back and looking at the mark as a 1 I believe the trail splits at that point...one up on top, one continues on the bottom. The picture I am now posting is most viewable from the bottom looking up. You do walk right by it on the upper trail but unnoticeable.

hadji,

from my view point, yes, a sow laying down, eyes closed,...no legs.... nearby perhaps I will dig.

Everyone is rooting for ya Oddrock. In fact, we would like to be rooting with ya !! I must be getting better cause I recognized the hog as soon as the picture came up. Didn't notice the missing legs but,the picture is dark.

T-jim,

Thanks for the encouragement. I intend to post a few new pics sporadically but will be on a site or two the next few days(thru about the 26th) as this next few days are important for some sites (some shadow/sun signs only are visible at certain times)and my partner and me will be looking for any new variations. :icon_thumleft:

In honor of humor I leave this from my first pic posted. :laughing9:

I lightened up the dark areas for ya. That opposite end of the sow rock is artificially shaped as a chisel. Is it a pointer?? I also circled a hoya that might have been formed accidentally. There might be some symbols in that darkened area under the sow's nose. Enlarging the photo anymore just brings on pixalation.

Shortstack 8)

nice job of lightning up the photo. I think the sow's rear end is also a pointer as there is more to see in that direction. Semi knee tree to the left...marks upper trail. Accidental hoyo is not one, but there is a hoyo underneath and behind the sow's jowls. More later...I'm off to see the Wizard!

Good news/bad news,

Came to town for ice/shower and got phone signal. Mother-in-Law had potiential heart attack. (bad)
did observe a new sign/symbol at a few minutes till 12:00 noon ( good ) only way I could figure out how to post was to draw on the last pic I posted...it is not on any of the three pics I have posted so far.
I am thinking (hoping) two church treasures? (two crosses attached, under a cover sign?)

SeekerofOro, Desertmoon,

Thanks once again for the observations. On the item circled ( by seeker) I take it as a buried cache. It appears as carved and confirmed by shadow. The upper left arrow (spotted by both of you) is pointing to a "tombstone" with a cross in the upper center to the right of a dark symbol. The other symbol spotted by both of you is a protruding triangle with a person's head wearing a hat/helmet, with a Sun sign "V" pointing down to a circle with a symbol I have not figured out yet. It is in what looks like an upside down OWL shadow sign. The other circled item (by DM) I take as "eyes", looking up at a large "Gorilla" head to the right that is not pictured in the photo. Some of these should become clearer and some may fade away by the 21st of this month or shortly after.

I have located the tombstone with a 1/4 moon appearing as cover symbol and a white protruding rock triangle on up the trail. It hit 98 degrees yeaterday but I did not seem to notice it so much. (it may not be to hot to dig after all?)

Sometimes the bad luck follows (to balance out the good?) Had a blow out on the way in....tried to download 49 pics I took yesterday a had a card error message and got zero pics! I will take them again...they should become clearer in the next few days and I would probably have re-took them anyway. ....life is a challange :)

There may be enough to keep you busy for a long time here.
My best suggestion is to get a good two box at this point.
It will help you to figure out whether a hole needs to be dug or not.

There may be several caches here.

Old Dog,

I am in total agreement with you. I bought one of the first Garret Master Hunter /two box when they first came out. My partner has a Minelab two box (detachable).
I have been working this site off and on since 1991. Partner joined in 95 or 96? Only in the last year and a half has the puzzle pieces started coming together. (like Johnny Cash's cadillac...one piece at a time.)

Old Dog,

I concur on the triangle. What is odd is it looks stuck to a vertical surface and the tree then grew around it. (maybe a piece of the rock extends back into the "wall".) The "tombstone" itself may be just that. May be a tilted helmet w/o face or head above it....a small figure on tombstone perhaps....first thought eagle with rays overhead....now leaning to the crowing rooster. (Templer perhaps?)

I'm baaaacck...in town cooling off. Posting a pic of what I believe to be a covered entrance symbol. (rectangle-ish cut back about 4 inches, two over hanging rock slabs....the shadow almost a perfect fit for the door, which I take for comfirmation.) A few months back when I noticed this the shadow(s) were thrown off to the right about 4 o'clock and covered another s/s. What do you gals/guys think?
