And another "squished" cent

Been finding these more often it seems, think I'm up to 20 or so now since I started. What do you all do with these? Kinda neat to find I think, seems like theres quite a lil niche for them in collectors. Onto my cent bags now! Happy Hunting Everyone!

Nice one. :icon_thumleft: What themes have you found?

Love squished pennies!

After finding enough of them I discovered this little booklet. Looks like volume 2 will be started shortly. Vegas, and most big cities, afford lots of opportunities to acquire these.

Used to trade with a gal on here years ago who was really into smashed cents.

I used to find a lot of the flattened pennies, haven’t found any recently though. My kids and I do as many as we can find when we go on vacation, they get a kick out of them.

Nice finds rosco

Immy: had an elderly gentleman who gave me a lot of old foreign & US coins, he also gave me an 1893 Colombian Expo squished cent., do these have any collectors value?

I believe the value depends on a few things (condition, etc) but most important seems to be the date of the coin used, if discernable. It seems a general rule is the rarer the date, the more you'll get for it.

Took a look at a few eBay auction final sales and garden variety squished pennies from the 1893 Expo can be in the $5-$10 range. Beware of modern restrikes though. They seem to be everywhere and don't fetch much, if anything.

Nice job on the nickles it does take a lot of work
I've dug a few of those squished pennies
