Agreed. If you built a 2.5 lb wireless detector thirty years ago you should have beat XP to the punch by three decades and made yourself a bunch of money. I won't try to convince you either because the things you don't like about it aren't going to change and if the weight is not a GIANT advantage (that's worth a grand to me with my arthritic shoulders) then get something else.

Tallyther - 1. I hate rechargeable batteries because of their life span, inability to handle cold. <-- I just have to comment on this portion of your thread.

I have a Minelab E-Trac and 2 Excals. All have re-chargeable batteries. I've had these detector's for many years, I can't even remember how long. I've never replaced or had any issues with the batteries? Plus I live in Minnesota and sometimes hunt in temps below 0 degree's, not to mention the wind-chill of -30 degrees......... So, very confused by this comment?
