Titan submersible, Titanic expedition

I don't know what to believe, but I've never seen so many articles.....the media storm is cat 5 at this point.

Only read a couple articles on this..I mean...people go down too deep in a submersible that was operating at/beyond it's structural limits, and the damn thing implodes; people died. An unintended tragedy. Everything else is just speculation.

Now the litigation begins..it won't bring anybody back, but the lawyers will get rich. This was a for-profit business, with marketing aimed at the upper echelons of society, and whose families can afford a room full of lawyers.

You're right about the media storm, Bart. Seems that today there's a gazillion news sources people can access, and every one of 'em is fighting for a piece of the Sub pie.

I find it ironic that 5 people die on the Ttan submersable and there is round-the-clock news coverage yet just last week 700 migrants died when their boat sank off the oast of Greece and just one news article. How sad.
This is a common situation / result in migrant life... told over and over.
The Titan on the other hand is not.
Biggest difference.
And then add the "why factor".
We all know the migrant why... its the Titans why that catches attention.
Again... totally different.
Hence why so many peoples attention... for we ALL are going "WHY" ? ? ?

I would wager that most people on this list would be happy to just stand in a corner of one of the shipping containers sitting on a ship deck watching live video coming back from a ROV diving on a wreck.

Some people are driven to test personal limits. Diving to the Titanic, launching into space, or climbing a remote peak. They have a higher tolerance for risk, or the ability to overlook the risk and only visualize the reward. Remember, most things are in the eye of the beholder. My philosophy professor claimed the answer to "Why?" was "because" or "why not"...

Submsrsble iimplodes claiiming 5 liives. Last week 700 lives are lost when a boat carrnig migrants sink off the coast of Grees. Who gets the mst press coverage?

Are you under the false assumption that the news business is based on anything other than quasi deception to maximize profits? It’s a dirty foul business operated by folks that sell their soul for a dollar and we are the consumers. When it’s put that way it kind of makes you wonder if we should be taking some kind of action in defiance. Withhold our dollar maybe?

Last week Oceangate was still advertising until Thursday for a Submersible Pilot/Marine technician. It suggested it was a career opportunity. I initially applied about 2 years ago as a Expedition Specialist. Not sure why OG called paying passengers ES instead of just calling them tourists or paying passengers. My initial thought was they were trying to maybe avoid any liability. Maybe Stockton Rush had an obsession with the Titanic because his wife Wendy was the great great grand daughter of Isador and Ida Straus how died on the Titanic. The Straus's were owners of Macys and maybe had luggage that had a very valuable jewelery cargo that Stockton was hoping to find.

People still pay for news these days?
Each click you make to watch online news equates to a payment. That’s the way it works these days. If you watch, you contribute revenue that pays for their operation. It’s a mystery to me but they make no money if nobody clicks.

We are starting to get pictures of the submersible wreckage:

Titanic sub mangled wreckage spotted for first time since fatal, catastrophic implosion

In a way I was expecting it to be smaller. From a physics perspective, the fact that it isn't might mean that the pressures equalized in a relatively short time following the implosion. It may have gone from calm, to implosion. and back to calm again in less than a second.
The photos sure give the impression that there may have been the possibility for there to be human remains. There may be strong currents that scattered things across an area too large to search.

Breaking news is that "presumed human remains" have been recovered from the wreckage of the submersible. So sad for the families and loved ones of those that perished.

While watching the pieces being unloaded I seen an orange lifting strap which appears to be tied through the front plexiglass port hole of the end cap. Cameron or Vescovo did not use plexiglass for viewing ports.

I also noticed that the viewing glass was gone.
Also ring was solo... nothing attached.

I read the pressure that deep would be like having the Eiffel Tower sitting on you, but made of LEAD.
At that depth it is about 6,500 pounds per square inch, I read there are 255 sq inches in average man, that would be over 1.5 million pounds....

Even if they survived longer than a millisecond or two, I don't think they ever knew what was happening. If it was the viewing glass that failed first, the water would have rushed in like a piston through the opening, reaching the other side of the submersible in milliseconds. It looks like they have enough of the sub to do a pretty good reconstruction, and they supposedly have the black box as well. I'm thinking we're going to get a pretty good picture of what happened when all is said and done. At least enough for the lawsuits and any possible criminal charges.

The longer this story goes the worse it gets and the more the cover up that takes place. I just want someone to interview David Lochridge. I also want James Cameron and Rob MacCallum to tell us and show us any copy of any communication transcripts they have, otherwise their speculation about the submersible having the RTM system activating and the submersible dropping weights is totally BS and who are the persons "inside the community" who are giving you that information? DETAIL DETAIL
A rep for OG told Insider that the company had no further info to provide. People should stop using their status as a badge of credibility.
Rob MacCallum and James Cameron are you just trying to salvage the submersible business?
And for David Concannon you should write a letter of apology to the Coast Guard, Navy and other government departments for your criticism of them not releasing and mobilizing equipment. Maybe you should release a copy of the settlement between OG and David Lochridge just for starters. Sorry you missed the boat.

Finally the truth has started to leak out. Take a look at the following;
Youtube
Leaked Sub transcript
by Jeff Ostroff
about 16 minutes
If that transcript is true then all we need is for the Navy to verify that the sound they heard was between 9 hours 46 minutes and 37 seconds and about the next 2 to 3 minutes.
