Hi Everyone,

Today I did some hunting on the site of an 1875 home and came up with this amazing copper button.

I've never seen anything like it.

As you can tell from the photo, it is tiny.

Here is the reverse. There is no backmark.

Have you ever seen anything like this?

Love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks and Happy Hunting!

Re: Pre-1900 Copper Button MUST SEE!

Thanks 4-H! I know nothing about buttons. An aquaintance (who knows a lot more than me) estimated it to be shortly before 1900. I'm up for any info you guys can lay on me - I'm here to learn!

Re: Pre-1900 Copper Button MUST SEE!

Just looked in Encyclopedia of Buttons and it says that a cut out shank (that is what you have there) is definitely of 20th century origin.
