This is my 100th post which now makes me a full member here at T-Net, :hello2: I'm glad its a good one. :D
Yesterday It was very foggy and kind of cold here in Washington. I decided to try real trashy park nearby to try its tot lot. When I got there I found the tot lot fenced off with a backhoe parked in the middle of it so I couldn't hit it. I didn't feel like dealing with the mega trash this particular morning so I decided to finish gridding the park I found the Chinese coin in a while back. Didn't find much of anything but trash there so with only an hour left to hunt I decided to head to the park I like to call the dime park because that's practically all I ever dig there.
Someone had gone through there recently and left all there holes unfilled and just left all there pull tabs and trash sitting right in those open holes. :angry5: My random wanderings over the next 45 minutes only produced a lot of trash and 4 pennies. :( I was feeling pretty discouraged and just kind of meandering back to my car when I hit another penny signal. I almost walked away but said to myself "Self", I said, "Pennies are money. Lets just make it an even nickle and go home".
After I dug the plug I looked in the hole and saw what looked like another wine seal. I reached in and grabbed it and to my surprise it was HEAVY. That's when I realized it was gold! :hello2: Normally my detector thinks rings are nickles but this ring was vertical in the ground so the round top was up making it indicate a coin. I tucked it in my treasure pouch and headed for the car. When I got there I pulled it out and wiped away the mud and sure enough there was the 14K mark.
When I got it home I did a quick weighing and it it a 15.8 gram 14K gold mans ring. I'm glad such a nice find could be my 100th post. ( I guess 100th posts are lucky :DThank )you for reading this and H.H. everyone.

Super find--nicely done!!

All the best,

Lanny

bloody ace find mate ... :headbang: 15+ g's ... cracking century!

Congrats on 100 and the gold! oh how we like gold. The only gold I have found was on a beach in Denmark without my detector. 4.4g 21k. HH

All that work for a gold ring? I'd say it's worth every hole you had to fill and all the trash you toted out with you :icon_thumleft:
You gotta love it when you have to clean up after some bozo! Keep up the good work.

crankyolman22,Sure wish I could post a gold ring every 100 posts!!!!!!!!! Hefty little bugger! God Bless HH Chris

Great story and congratulations and I hope it fits one of your fingers. :coffee2: What a reward, if that's how it works, I'd better start making some more posts, ;D

Congrats at the 100 mark and WTG on the gold. :blob7:
