"There's already been three people that have metal detected here." Although this quote by the home owner may be true, they must not have found much. I had a five silver day, which is one of my personal bests! I found two mercs ('34 and '44), a '47 Rosie, a '45 war nickel, a 1940 Washington quarter, 7 wheaties, a 1901 IHP, and a 1935 buffalo nickel! I guess the fourth time is the charm.....and if you have $1000 in expert equipment and a couple years of experience

Always nice to clean up behind others, shows how ya NEVER get it all, congrats!

Great finds! I have learned that, you can never clean a spot dry - Ground shifts, freezes, thaws - Things pop up all the time!

They definitely do. The one Merc I found today was almost right below the grass! I was shocked!

Wow, I'd have though that was a virgin yard with finds like that! Good haul!

Great day cleaning up with silver, a 5 silver day is Awesome!!

Congrats!!

Very well done. That is quite the assortment of coins too. GL&HH.

Don't ya love when people say that?! A guy promised me last week I wouldn't find anything and within 5 minutes I found an LC at 3".

Hey good for you, bad for those last three!

Picked up a seated dime and one real in one of those hunted yards last year. Nice going.

Nice digs . Thanks for sharing the hunt and the pictures

I love it when a property owner says that as it makes it a challenge to see if I can dig what others left, and usually its quite a bit. About 3 years ago an owner/farmer told me I wouldn't find anything in his field. I think I proved him wrong as you can see from the pic below:

That was a super silver day , would make my year getting five silvers :occasion14: We went to a place like that where some guy had said there was nothing there since he couldn't find anything with his detector had one of my best days in several years there !

Bill D.

That place definitely looks like it was hunted out. Lol

I think sometimes landowners say that instead of saying no because they hope you will be discouraged and go away. Of course, most of us take that as a challenge. :)

Congrats on on a great day and nice finds!

I agree, and wow! Capped bust, relics galore, and 1700s silver... Nice!! I have yet to get into the 1700s club...

I totally agree with that. We've all heard it so many times by now that you just have to hunt it no matter what
