Fisher is a good choice! They make models in many price ranges. I personally like to see dealers that don't just promote 1 or 2 brands.
It might be more difficult for you when asked what you would recommend, but the wider selection will encourage both novices and veterans in the hobby.

I don't know much about the fisher brand . What are the pluses and minuses of their line ?

They have been in business for many years. Gerhardt Fisher developed the first metal detector in 1936. They make good detectors and they have good warranties. I personally have a 10 year old CZ6 and its a good machine, but its not my favorite. It has great depth, but I find that it is very sensitive to nails. I have also used Compass, Whites, and Garrett. They have all been good detectors and the manufacturers have done a good job of backing the warranty. There are other detectors that are good too. I'm not promoting any of them, just giving my opinion from prior experience. I am also not a dealer, but have been a user for over 30 years.

I have only owned one detector , and i chose garrett . Think i made a good choice . I read in forum about learning curves and time to learn to operate correctely, and it reinforces my belief in a detector with turn on an go programs . What is the use of having a detector that takes many months to learn to operate , if you lose interest, and park it in a closet ? While i am still learning my garrett ,i was able to put it on a factory program on day one , and begin to find things . Not complaining about others choice of detectors but lets promote units that a beginner can learn to ENJOY from day one . I for one enjoy this forum !!!! and jeff confessed........he is a computer chip.........responds to the word BUZZ !!!!

I already carry Garrett and White . I was thinking about possibly picking up another line (NOT MINELAB) . I was looking at possibly fisher . You think its overkill . I don't want to confuse people when they are looking around by having a million different similar detectors in differing brands .

Thoughts or suggestions ?
I think Fisher is a good choice. I have purchased 3 new and one used detector in the 10 years I,ve been metal detecting. The local coin shop is where I bought alll three , and they only stocked Garrett. I could have ordered a Whites or Fisher though. Before buying I rented one of thier machines. I could have rented a GTA 350 or the Ace..Irented,then bought an Ace..A week later they let me trade up (losing money on the Ace of course) to a GTA 750....I guess you could say I had the bug... I bought the Master Hunter III about a year later, and I am still learning or relearning to trust my machine...
Last year I saw a 1212 Fisher at a flea market and had to have it(only $25.) I got used to it;s simplicity in no time....I used it last summer in the construction areas where they tore up and replaced sidewalks....It worked like a champ........I went to visit my father in Tennessee last summer and took the fisher 1212 along to give to my dad....Also found some coins and relics at his late uncles place.....Just as they were breaking ground to make it into a new housing project....I left it with him as I came back home to Indiana..
I suppose my next detector will be either a whites or maybe another fisher,,,but If it will be a fisher I think I'll go with the 1236 or 1270.............Garrett GTA and GTX are OK but LISTENING to the signal and DIGGING MORE is where its at for me...Good Luck in your Bussiness :o

Thanks for all the good feedback . Yep I already carry white and Garrett . I would carry minelab BUT myself and the manufacturer have a difference of opinion on a couple of things and this makes it IMPOSSIBLE so I am going to look into fisher and see what they have to offer us .

OK I picked up "detector pro " and "tesoro" . I am still considering fisher BUT for now its not set .

I have a question for you Garrettdealer,,or anyone that knows about Fisher detectors........Can anyone tell me the models...new and up to 10 years old ....That have a built in Pinpointer,,or coin depth indicator......If I buy another Fisher.....I only want to spend --under-$500,,,,but HAVE TO HAVE something that will tell me the depth to dig (easier to guess if its junk can)....and it will help me to pinpoint sifting threw the plug.........I am spoiled ,,,,,having had thes fetures on all but one of my M.D.......Thankx 4 any Help

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but i believe teh least expensive fisher with those features is in the $800 range . If I were you and was looking to spend that ammount I'd lean towards either a Prizm III, IV or an ace 250 . As far as up to 10 years old . I have no idea . :D
