If I had a higher resolution pic I could make it at least in part readable!

I can't make out anything Bocaj. The map reference you asked about is from my files. I think I copied out of a book that I read. There's also a pic or photocopy of the original "Sarah Kidd" chart that exists, but I lost my copy. I will post it here if I can find it.

I am almost sure that this so called photo is a "improved" version of what we already have copied on an old paper to make it look more authentic. Some details are almost not visible anymore and others (lines mostly) somehow are visible where you can't see them on the black/white copy. Probably from some book to promote authenticity. In any case it is too low-res to prove or disprove anything. But the writing on its back is very strange as it would have been mentioned before if the copy was authentic.

In any case I doubt that any expert would give an opinion on such a low-res digital version without any reference where it is from. The missing original copies present a major problem when trying to prove it to be either fake or authentic. I honestly don't care that much. Even if fake I think the island itself exists and had some history of being used by pirates and smugglers as a hideout. It has a strong mythical value even without any treasure.

It just so happens the unexplained Captain Kidd episode was on last night. They have a bunch of theories.

I have to say. This guy covered a lot of ground. Was seen in many places in the Atlantic and elsewhere. Stopped in many ports. They mentioned Gardiner’s Island, Oyster Bay, the Hudson River, and even CT.

He had BIG connections in NY. Not only with Bellomont, but with other major land owners, slave traders, merchants, etc.

I truly wouldn’t be surprised if he hid something close by on a friend’s property who had some political sway in the region. Just a hunch.

Meh, most of the "story" sounds contrived. How could anybody of known it was Kidd who took that ship in Indian waters. They said as soon as Kidd got to the Caribean it was everywhere that he was a wanted man. Pretty sure they didn't have telephones in those days.

It would of taken probably a year and a half to two years before anybody figured out what happend and to send a force after him.
From my experience a lot of these "official stories" are totally bogus.

There was another reason, the Crown was after Kidd.

First off why is a man, based out of New York Pirating ships in India? The Logistics of the story don't even make sense.
Bank Of England Established 1694, has something to do with this.
Most likely by 1693 there would of been alot of gold & silver accumalated at Port Royal Jamaica. From All the Trade and Drink.
Kidd possibly hired to Transport the Gold & Silver from Port Royal?
There is nothing from ship logs?
Only thing left is a possible map, which appears to be Hateras Island?
Hateras Island is a perfect lookout spot for passing ships?
They were probably smelting Gold & Silver on the North Carolina Coastal Banks.
Possibly cutting out the Crown?

Yeah, the Gold & Silver found on Hateras must of been payout to the lookouts.
Probably got waxed along with Kidd.

Probably aint no big "Pirate Treasure Haul" out there. Possibly some Breadbox Chests though, Laid up by individual sailors of the time, scattered throughout pretty much everywhere. Probably should just be clasified as 17th Century Hoard Caches.

The English must of beat the Hell out of Kidd, He probably gave up everybody, including his greasy granny. They were calling people witches and Sh*t back then putting Hot pokers up peoples a**es and sh*t, to check if they were witches.

I can appreciate your opinion, but you can't completely ignore the facts and write your own history of events. The King sent Kidd to the Indian Ocean because that's where pirates were attacking merchant ships. And I could find no record that Kidd ever visited Hatteras Island.

Personally I could care less because there probably is no Kidd treasure Hoard, anyways.
