The Treasure of Captain William Kidd.

I am surprised that no one mentioned about the Kidd's Cave in Palmer Massachusetts and the supposed Kidd's letter found there that was claimed to give the location of his treasure. Also there was the Edward Rowe Stowe Capt Kidd's treasure map.

Hi NEE,
Wasn't that letter written by "Robert Kidd"? ..And is it possible you mean author Edward Rowe "Snow", who wrote "True Tales of Buried Treasure" ? Please share what you know..

Would you be willing to share where Snow published his Kidd's treasure map?

Thank you!

Good luck to all,

Hi ISG,
So you believe Kidd's treasure did exist, but was already recovered?
Why do you think it may have been hidden on Hatteras Island?
I did alot of research on the subject years ago.
Yeah, I think it existed. Not sure when it was fully recovered. I think I had a timeline of probablility, but forgot it. I figured gold was gone, what's the point?
Part of it could of been dug up 150 years ago by a local farmer? Most likely recovered by East Coast Treasure Hunters 80's 90's most likely.

Interesting subject, But If you believed he did bury treasure surely this couldn't of been the first time he did it. So are there other spots gone forgoten or places Kid did'nt need to make a map for?

😉🤔
Finding Treasure with a map is one thing. Finding treasure without a map is another.

Actually probably make a pretty good film. The Undercover Recovery of Kids Treasure. Probably the only gold left in that map.

I have an idea of where more Kids treasure may be burried, not anywhere in the US though.
No, it's not in Kids Cave or the Money Pit or something ridiculous like that.

I think NEExplorers may have been thinking of Edward Low's treasure map, not Kidd's.
My sincerest apologies if I'm mistaken..

Thank you for posting that! From memory (sometimes memory serves; sometimes mine double-faults) Robert Nesmith's classic Dig for Pirate Treasure (1958) has two accounts of Edward Rowe Snow recovering pirate treasure.

Good luck to all,

Nova Scotia is a totally different animal, there may of been Treasure but doubtful any of it had anything to do with Kidd.
Kidd was mos likely the Defacto name anyone would asscociate any burried treasure with his arrest & trial. Kidds exploits, Trial and Death was world renowned and most likely sparked the imagination of every boy and man.
Never did any research on Edward Low, interestung
Interesting That treasure map of Lows looks an awful lot like St. Paul Island Nova Scotia

Like I said pretty sure that map was of Hateras. Thinking about it would be interesting to go through all of Kidds charts a log books. Doubt it's possible, though

Gophers are interesting people though. Wouldn't be surprised if he had a couple of staches around New York his main home, as well as different areas besides Hateras Island.

Personally I think If I was going to search for Kidd Treasure I would probably go to Principe

Again you aren't told all the story. There were mutliple of copies of a treasure map in circulation int eh region of Nova Scotia. There were a number of islands searched using copies of the same map. It was well known back then.

It's just not mentioned now as it 'ends' the Oak Island mystery, Oak Island being just one of the islands searched.

Even the reporter in this article knew it: oh look, what sounds like another '90 foot stone'....

The post says it's "Isle Haute" in Nova Scotia.
Interesting, to me it kind of looks like St. Paul Island. Just the Directions are off. Funny the Directions are off on the Kidd Map too, as far as Hateras Island is concerned too?

Edward Lowe Might be an Interesting "Pirate" to research, sounds like a real scaliwag.
😆
Somebody must of picked all that booty off the St. Paul Island coast after all those shipwrecks. Lowe sounds just like the guy to place a bright light next to a rocky reef.

Unfortunately Kidd's log book was burned. Kidd definitely sailed past São Tomé and Príncipe, on his privateering voyage. What evidence or clues make you believe he could have hid treasure there?
