Yep, that's it right there.... I've had dry spells before but this one takes the cake. I generally door knock and between renters not being able to give me permission without their landlord's consent, people just not home when I stop by, a higher than normal number of "no" (I generally get permission >75% of the time), and just crappy locations (apparently) I haven't dug so much as a zinc penny in 3 weeks! The other night I went out for three hours and only turned my detector on for a total of about 5 minutes....the rest was driving, scouting, and talking to people. Tonight wasn't much better - had it on for about 20 minutes or so this time over the course of about three hours again.

I've got all day booked for detecting on Saturday , and something needs to change because it's going to be one heck of a pointless day otherwise.

Don't take this wrong but, I am glad to see someone else is having trouble getting permissions, lol. I have gone 3 or 4 hours with the same " I am just a renter " or no one answers, or just plain old " No, sorry, not today ". It gets very disheartening, but better days are ahead! Keep your chin up and keep knocking:coffee2:

Yeah that's the worst part because normally I don't have a problem at all with permissions! I've gone weeks without getting turned down before! I did get permission from a lady last night who offered to "cleanse my aura" with her "spiritual healing powers"...in a 1914 house just down the road from me. The yard was super junky and I got some bad EMI in one corner (presumably due to healing powers interfering with my Etrac). This is an odd town...I hunted a field last year where the guy told me there had been a "major tragedy" at some point. We live in an area that saw a lot of troop movement during the Civil War, and there were lots of native americans here prior to European settlement, so I thought that'd be a good place to check. Turns out, there was no evidence to this "massacre", aside from a vibe that his psychic adviser got. Yep, that's our town!

Hang in there, Jeff. Soon enough the leaves will be off the trees, and the fields harvested opening up a ton more opportunities for you.

I have been reluctant to open the post... because I am always jealous of everyone else's killer finds.

Sorry that your luck has been less than stellar as of late. If things don't get better in WV, you just roll on down I77 to Charlotte, and I will take you on a "dirty penny" dig at the park.

Good luck!
