Solid metal object more magnetic than my fridge

Hello I am new here trying to find an answer to what this very heavy object might be. I appreciate any suggestions.

What I see is a dark colored rock. Rocks are heavy, but if I understand correctly you're saying this is much heavier than a comparably sized rock? How much does it weigh?

Also, some history on it would be helpful. How did you come by the rock? Do you know where it came from? Desert, river, etc.?

When you say it is magnetic, do you mean steel/iron objects will stick to it or that a magnet will stick to it?

I've found similar rocks here in the anthracite fields of NEPA.
It is Magnetite.

It is a leverite, or as Terry said hematite, or even magnetite ( if it is magnetic)

you could send it to a meteorite identification lab or expert, or if you could test for nickel metal presence, there's a kit you can buy, then it just might be a meteorite
