The Rubber Room

Yes the Crematoria scene from Ridick is a little over the top, I guess you just have to live here to appreciate the reference. Acclimation to the climate is the key, once you live here for a while, or even a native to the desert, you learn the do's and don'ts of how to cope. Spend a few summers working outside and I guarantee anything below 80 degrees starts getting chilly.

My concern is people who think it is not that bad and suddenly find themselves in trouble, thus the Crematoria reference, anybody here or has been here in the summer would get it and not think that is was to far from reality :laughing7:

Anytime you want to come visit us Marius let me know and we could go hiking............everybody should enjoy those mountains at least once :occasion14:

Gentlemen obey TN rules, end the insults and arguements now.....

Consider this a formal warning....

American by birth, Patriot by choice.

I would rather die standing on my two feet defending our Constitution than live a lifetime on my knees......

Just want to agree on the warnings not to go hiking in the mountains in summer, you can get into very serious trouble without realizing it. As to how people lived without air conditioning, this was part of the reason for the wonderful and wise old Mexican custom of la Siesta! Rest in the shade during the hot parts of the day, and unfortunately there is very little shade in the Superstitions.

Roy even with air I like that Siesta in the afternoon heat. There is nothing in the mountain worth going for in the summer. Cool weather will arrive. Perhaps some mountain snow. That's a different story.

Roy,

I have these Apache symbols of power, that will protect me when I travel. I have that on good authority, so I never worry about the heat.:dontknow:

Take care,

Joe

Great then you have NO excuse to not make a nice vacation trip to see the Black Hills this summer!:hello2: <how is that for a subtle hint?> :laughing7: May even have a lost treasure or mine that you could spend some time looking for too while you are here away from the heat.

I just have a gripe with some fellows that think it shows how "tough" or "He-man" they are to go hiking in mid-summer in the Superstitions. They can get mad at me but too many times it has ended badly for guys that go in summer. Why do that when just waiting for cool weather reduces the dangers a LOT? For some guys maybe it is fine and safe and all that, but there are a LOT of people who read these forums for information, and they are not members nor do they ever post, and they are the people who end up being brought out in the plastic bags.

We did not have A/C at all when we were living in AZ, so I do have an idea exactly what it is like to go through an AZ summer without it. That Mexican tradition of la siesta is a really good custom. Can't seem to get the idea to catch on here though. :dontknow:

I hope all is well with you and Carolyn, keep Smoky out of that heat too.

Roy,

Even though we would never go in the Superstitions in the summer, we never had trouble finding shade:

We must find a shade, or we will make one......Joe Barca

Take care,

The fine Siesta Tradition, been practicing it for years and almost perfected it to the point of not knowing it happens :laughing7:

For the record, you may have "lost some episodes as well", I am not and have never been part of the SSAR. Although I do keep an eye out for anyone lost or in trouble when I'm hiking.

Any plans on returning to the Superstitions Marius?

thats kinda interesting. i been going out in the mountains and desert when it's well over a hundred, why, no one to contend with. everyone seems to wanna suck on the air conditioner too much. how you gonna accumulate to the heat if yer indoors?!

That`s the one thing I like, having the whole place to myself because I`m the only fool out there. I learned to acclimate myself in harsh conditions from my past military training. Be it hot or cold, you have to pace and protect.

Maybe sounds little crazy ( the word " little " is to make the proposition longer ) , but are two stone trails . Both have relation with the dots in the horse stone trail . Both have the same end point but have different start points . One is in a bigger scale and shows how to reach the end point from outside of the mountains ( in this trail the upper three dots have the same dispersion with the Xs in the stone trail ) and the other is small and shows how to reach the end point from the side of the mountain ( in this trail the dots have the same dispersion with the mines in the Latin heart ) .

I am here because I have burned some brain cells when I had done this work . I hope medicine will works .

Now there is a thought! The horse places the stone maps we know of in a area. There could very well be another set for a different area. The horse could also be a pointer for that set. Good work.

So I was camping in the supes last night when a being appeared out of nowhere. He pointed in a direction and without speaking He informed me that the trail started beyond a hill. His eyes turned bright white and again without speaking he told me that I have the purity in my blood to find the objects at the end of said trail but they would destroy the world as we know it. I asked what it was and he responded that it was in fact a portal to another dimension. He went on to say that if the portal were to be opened that the dimensional beings would live amongst us for eternity.they would in fact make obamageddon a thing for eternity. As I was getting ready to ask yet another question he was absorbed into the ground and all that was left was a rock in the formation of his hand pointing in the same direction. I didn't have my camera or I woulda took a pic. I don't know about you guys but I am done with those maps.they are bad mojo.

Wow , what a dream !

And I , sometimes , I am dreaming how the seven dwarves of Snow White fairy tale help me to mining out the LDM . The bad is when Snow White ask from me to choose between her and the LDM . This is the moment when I wake up screaming " Why ! " . :BangHead:

Best book idea so far.

"The Lost Dutchman Mine Forum"

Its perfect, got all the proper characters and lots of intrigue. I'm thinking either the old detective format or maybe something grander like an epic Greek mythological story.

Eric

I believe the book could be a detective satire . The majority of the characters , are walking in circles around the spot , because they ignore the evidence ( clues and the maps ) of the story . Like the agent 000 ( not the known 007 ) .

Unless they agree with your ideas to easily, then they could be part of the Conspiracy.

If they think you are completely nuts, then they could be part of the Conspiracy.

Maybe everybody is part of the Conspiracy and you can't trust anyone.

Where's Frank? It's been a while. Hope all is well with him.
