Mincemeat? Yes! My mother-in-law made Mincemeat pie with deer meat. People either liked it or they hated it!
I loved it! Local deer too!

Our Christmas dinner, and a few days after, was Standing rib roast. Man.. It was prime!!

We are now enjoying the famous Ship a shore cheese fondue, stuffed mushrooms, deviled eggs and a carrot/green onion/cucumber/radish/celery veggie plate ensemble.

Sadly the restaurant, motel and the ship are closed. Local tribe now owns all the property so hopefully it will all be restored.

The old mince meat mix up plays again.
Mince filling

• 1 cup (142g) raisins
• 1 1/2 cup (213g) golden raisins, divided*
• 1 1/3 cup (190g) Zante currants, divided*
• 2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
• 1/4 cup (35g) mixed candied peel*
• zest (grated rind) of 1 orange
• zest (grated rind) of 1 lemon
• 3/4 cup (159g) dark brown sugar, packed
• 2 teaspoons Yuletide Cheer Spice, or a combination of 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon each nutmeg and allspice
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 2/3 cup (71g) slivered almonds
• 2 1/2 tablespoons (35g) butter, melted
• 1/4 cup (57g) brandy, French brandy preferred

Traveling in New Zealand the Mrs gets a hankering when she kept on seeing signs up in the countryside stores for mince meat.
She ❤ 😍 mince meat, so the next store she asks the fellow for one mince meat pie and with a double scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The look that fellow gave my Mrs
"Mam there's mutton in those mince meat pies, I don't think you want ice cream on it"

Just came across this warning for seniors getting their booster shot.

"Booster vaccine WARNING for the aging...
This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group.
A friend had his 3rd booster dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home.
When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice about seeing a doctor, or be hospitalized.
He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but just return to the vaccination center immediately and pick up his glasses."
