The Mynah Birds were made up of members Neil Young, Rick James, Bruce Palmer, Rickman Mason, John Taylor

Out of Toronto, this short lived group produced a number of great songs. Unfortunately the songs were locked away for 40 years until Motown released them in 2006

Rick James was from the US, and had made his way to Toronto to avoid being drafted. Later he went on to have a solo career. Neil Young and Bruce Palmer were founding members of Buffalo Springfield. Other band members include Nick St.Nicholas & Goldy McJohn (of Steppenwolf) and Neil Merryweather. The band's active years were from 1964 - 1967. They were signed to Motown Records in 1966.

Motown canceled this song on it's release date in 1966 when Rick James was arrested for going AWOL from the Navy.He served a year in jail & the band soon after broke up.the song was finally released 40 years later and this is one of those 5000 that were released.Neil Young was also a member of this band!!!!!!

Thanks Jeff for that info...
