The Many Lost Treasures of Mariposa, CA (Photos Added)

Welcome to our thread. I saw your Cherokee there. Sorry we didn't connect. I think I'll go to the river this Saturday morning. Perhaps you'll be there.

EagleDown,

I must say thank you for all you do. This thread is a fun read. I had not planned on this weekend, BUT I might do it anyway just to meet up. I now realize how poor of a panner I am, so that is now my newest priority. Learning how to pan with confidence! However, I'm still nursing my aches and pains from my last trip there. I'm in lousy shape. :laughing7: I'll check back tomorrow here on the thread.

Thanks!
Jerry

Eagle the first weekend I know im gonna be off and its opening weekend of deer season so I cant make it but we will meet up in the near future any more word from randy?

(lol) Take care of your aches and pains my Friend. There's been little response for this Saturday, so, I think I'll save myself the 110 mile (round trip) drive. I have a couple of spots that I need to metal detect while we're having this cool spell.

We'll all get together eventually.

SharpRock, Thanks for stopping by the shop the other day. I am headed to the river this weekend to do some sniping and panning. Hope to see you next week some time when the recirculating systems come in, I will give you a call. I will be at Cable Rock today and downstream from the bridge on Sunday. Greetings to you all..Charles, Goldbag , and EagleDown.

solar sluice.jpg This is my "Solar Sluice recovery system. I can take it anywhere and its totally portable. Once the unit is in the water, you can float it anywhere. I will take it out on Sunday, if any of you see me, stop by and say "hello".

Wow! I really would like to build or buy one of these for myself. Care to share some info?

That is cool! A 'green friendly dredge'. I can see smoke coming from the lawyers already!

Hey EagleDown,

I'll see what I can do. I've got a few irons in the fire now, but will try to get up there for a quick look see and say HI. If I do make it, I'll be in the aforementioned green 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, lifted a few inchs. :occasion14:

At least he doesn't have to worry about spark arrestors. (lol) I've been thinking about the wording of the "Moritorium". It states that "No motorized equipment, dredges, etc."....... Gasoline powered equipment is not motorized, that would be an electric motor. My dredge would be driven by a gasoline ENGINE. Not a motor. Hmmm, technicalities. (lol)

Basically, you have a set of floats, a sluice box, a solar panel and a submersible pump. (Presumally a 12v pump)

I am really waiting to see the reaction of the BLM folks when you show up with that. Maybe video the encounter? :laughing7:

I will be below the bridge between the first beach and the bridge..floating around sniping. lol.... this Solar Sluice fun !! I am basically mucking up gravel by hand and running it thru sluice box. California legal at the moment.:occasion14: but who knows any more with this state. And if they ever ***** about a solar sluice box, FOLKS we have major problems in our country. I mean who has been promoting alternate energy, green no emmision cars , trucks whatever? Our government. So here is a piece of equipment that's Green as can be....hahaha...I will have fun with it as long as I can. See all of you who show up...I will be the guy in the water having fun.. :)

Eagle,

Thanks for a great time on the river. I think the dogs had fun too. Especially the stick and swim fun. :icon_thumright:

Fred,

We looked but didn't see you. Were you hanging out with those girls in the bikinis? :laughing7:

Take care guys,

Jerry

I’ve received many remarkable nature photographs over the years but this photo of a nesting Falcon is perhaps the most remarkable Nature shot that I’ve ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Nature is truly breath-taking!
