12 hours since my last smoke....and one package of twizzlers and half a pot of coffee later YEP you could say I got myself a caffine sugar high from hell going! I am bouncing off the walls but its better than bitting everyones heads off.

So do I take it from the silence today on this thread today the rest of you are holed up like bears??

Just thought I would add some encouragement....YOU CAN YOU CAN YOU CAN!

Re: The GREAT TREASURE NET "SMOKE-OUT" (November 1, 2007)

Hard candy, beef jerky, and soda are doing it for me so far.

LOL Yes, we can. I'm holed up at work with nothing but time on my hands. Please excuse any incoherence, ;).

Re: The GREAT TREASURE NET "SMOKE-OUT" (November 1, 2007)

I'm here! I'm watching the posts... ;)

So far it's been an easy morning for me... keeping my mind and hands busy.

Also - I gave the patch on and I know that takes the edge off.

Peachy and I opened a room in chat called "Ex-Smokers Lounge" It's there for all of you who are committed to stop and wanna chat, and for those who will support us... stop in if you can - even if you just wanna complain! LOL If the room is not there you can start your own and see if anyone shows up to chat with you. The room goes away when nobody is in it... so start your own if you want to!

I'm at 10 hours, 57 minutes

I've saves $2.05 so far

... and not smokes 9 ciggys.

I've saved 45 minutes on my life...

That calculator is pretty cool! :D

Re: The GREAT TREASURE NET "SMOKE-OUT" (November 1, 2007)

The patch is helping... I haven't dived into the trash for the smokes I crushed and threw away yet... :P

Hope you are all well!

No deaths or injuries yet I trust?

HANG IN THERE!!!!!!

One thing to keep in mind. Too much hard candy may cause blood sugar problems.

Re: The GREAT TREASURE NET "SMOKE-OUT" (November 1, 2007)

Hi All fellow travellers
My second day done, 6:40pm as I start to write.

I had one ciggie last night, 'cos it was my choice. I haven't had another since, but if I want one, I'll have one.

I'm feeling confident that it will only take two or three days like this, for me to stop completely - same system worked for me to stop for 18 months, once before - and I appear to be in the right frame of mind, thanks to the timing of the suggestion from Montana Jim.

Aaaha! Maybe Jim was hypnotising us all :o from behind those shades 8)

I do have all you fellow listed travellers on this journey, to thank too, thank you,

Kia kaha - stay strong

Cheers, Mike

Re: The GREAT TREASURE NET "SMOKE-OUT" (November 1, 2007)

I hope everyone is staying smoke free, keep it up friends!!

Going on 36 hours without a smoke...
last night after dinner was the hardest part of day one.
Maybe by then, the patch had lost some of it's punch?

I have filled my ashtray in the car with hard candies.
The rides to and from work are where I used to smoke a lot.

Anyway, I did make it through without buying any or smoking
mostly by saying to myself over and over , that I want to quit
more then I want to smoke.

Be strong everyone!! Good luck.
This is not an easy thing to do... but a good thing, yes.

:)

Re: The GREAT TREASURE NET "SMOKE-OUT" (November 1, 2007)

I broke down early this morning and bought a pack. It was to a point where I needed one, I didn't just want one. 3 puffs and I was dizzy and lightheaded. It may be that cold turkey isn't the way for me. :( However, it did teach me that I can go a lot longer w/o than I thought. After doing certain things, like drinking a Dew (sorry, I don't do coffee) I have a cig. After a meal, out comes the pack. Stressed-yep. Bored--oh yeah- light em up.

The boss said I'd be getting a raise this next year. He also said if I quit smoking that I'd get a $25 a week raise. Knowing him, if I don't quit smoking, I probably won't get the raise. However, he's said that he's retiring this next year and turning the business over to me. So I'll just give myself the raise. ;D ROFL

You guys hang in there!!!! I'm still here to cheer you on!!
