Ok...Jeep is "semi" fixed after the entanglement with the doe ...Cherokee 2 - Buck & Doe 0

I decided to hunt the V farm a few hours and try a few areas for 1 of the forts I've researched...long story short I found absolutley nothing :angry7: Hunted several spots I thought for sure but came up empty :dontknow: :sad11:

I guess back to the drawing board on this fort and more :icon_study: :read2:

Discouraged I felt the last 2 hours I had I'd spend in the G.W. field since I found the Woods Hibernia the other evening
Glad I made that choice !

Good targets are slim now ( untill next plowing season ) and I was simply enjoying the evening breeze working the grid slowly...

Afterabout 1 hour into hunting I had dug 3 rotted pewter buttons and some junk lead and thought I aint leaving untill I have at least 1 good relic.

Well thank the LORD above my next target was a USA ( coat ? ) button and in not to bad a shape !! YAY !! Not as good as the first one I dug there but the letters are plainly visible and theres only a little bit of the bottom of the button eaten away.

So far the tally is 2 USA's , 1 Ny Continental army button , and the GW inaugural from this field. Not to meantion all the common buttons , coins , a cannonball , colonial hatchett , and tons of other relics ! I cant wait for next spring

I also dug 1 last pewter button before leaving and there was at one time something on the face of this button but its so eaten away its dang near impossible to make it out but I'm adding the photo

Good Luck To Everyone :occasion14:

Gotta love sites like that! 4 pewter buttons and some lead is well worth a trip back asap. I've spent many hunts on my best little Rev site digging nothing more than a tiny piece of nothing, even on occasion absolutely nothing. Hunting places like that is easy no matter how quiet it is because the anticipation keeps you going. Great button once again!

So you have hunted a little?

Yeah but would like to hunt more, but who wouldn't. I have lots of patience for sites like that.

Very nice button. Anything Rev War is just a pleasure to find. Keep them coming!!

Fantastic! The USA buttons are an amazing find (what have there been, like 8 total, incl. those in museums?), and today I got to learn about the Regimental button--which I'd never seen before.

Thanks and Hooray!
