Took a week to learn the language, and it is a strange one.
I picked these out of the heavy iron .
1851 large cent 4 old flat buttons.
One button has an eagle on it...will do some research on it later.
Eagle button says Excelsior so it`s a New York Militia General use button used circa 1820-1845.
2 round balls, and some non ferrous pieces.
i was using Shanegalang`s Program of the "Cain Field Bandits"

Hello fellow Deus lovers! In my area, south Louisiana, I hunt sugarcane fields. Most times the areas or old plantation home sites/trash pits. Obviously I encounter quite the nail patches. When in this iron infested area I have had great sucess with these settings.
3- Deus Fast
Frequency- 11737 (12khz)
Disc- 0
Full Tones
Sens- 90
TX Power- 3
Iron Vol- 0
Reactivity- 3
Audio Res- 4 (or 5)
Notch- 00-00

This program works really, really well in iron! I hear a solid, repeatable beep on a shotgun shell primer at 4 to 6 inches!

GAP Metal,

Good program, if I were to make any change to it, I might lower TX power to 2 if there is any mineralization in your area to speak of (if the mineralizaiton bargraph on the right side of the Deus display has any bars registered on it). The sugarcane fields down in LA are probably low mineralization so it is fine there, not sure what the story is with the soil up your way. Otherwise, it is a good program. If you are running version 4, then you can lower reactivity to 2.5 which is a good tradeoff between recovery speed for trashy areas and depth. Even Reactivity of 2 will give you more depth if you are running 3.2 software.

What i do is have basically a program like that at 8 and 12 khz so that I can switch between the two on the fly and if there is any interference. If you want to maximize depth on high conductors you can lower frequency to 4 khz but then you are locked at Tx power of 3. When hitting a site, I will sometimes grid it by running 8 khz in one direction and 12 khz or 18 khz in the other. Kinda like hitting the site with two different detectors.

I have blistered sites with that set up but had tx on 2. If your ears get tired you can add some disc but I like the open machine my self. I'm working on a new program for iron infested sites and will share it in the near future after I get some time under my belt with it. That program above is killer. To turn it into a deep program I just lower react to 2 and silencer -1 and sens to 93 and change to 7kh that's a deep program at that point.

Is there an echo chamber in here? That's what happens when CD and I type up our replies at the same time. lol.

Thats funny I looked at it and typed and looked after the post and you had posted.

Well done! It took me far longer to notice the subtle variances in the sounds of the deus.

BTW Nice finds GAP. Def need to get up your way at some point.

Very nice finds! My settings are very close to what you guys use also.
Ver. 3.2
Deus Fast
Freq. 12Khz.
Full Tones
Disc. 2
Reactivity 2
Silencer 0
Sens. 90
TX 2
Iron Vol. 0
Audio 4
In thick iron I just change to Reactivity 3-4, Silencer 0, Sens. 85, Tx 1.

This is a new program for deep targets in cleaner areas. I just change to Reactivity 0, Silencer 0, Audio 7. I did a couple short hunts with these settings at an old park and ended up with 5 Indians a V- nickle and 2 tiny WW1 cuff buttons.

I do love reading you guys' posts comparing settings, you all have helped me to understand the deus so much better. I am a lot slower than most and need all the help I can get.

glad this set up has been helpful for you! I am going to try some of the changes the others suggested too. HH- Shane, Canefield Bandits
