Killer finds! Never found any seated halves, or seated quarter. Definitely would be hard to have the nickel cleaned. Too soft a material and would just turn it into a ghost. The silver could just be soaked in lemon juice. I'd just put them in for about 6 hours and look at them. Don't have my redbook with me, but wondering if any of those seated are low mintage. Don't think so, but without looking who knows. If any of them are low mint and valuable I would clean very, very, lightly.

Congratualtions on the killer old coin spill! :occasion14:

Epic coin spill, WOW!!

Hi; SUGGESTION: The black on the silver coins is Silver Oxide. What I do is as follows :
1). Take a 4" x 4" piece of tin foil. Lay it down flat shiny side up.
2). Set the coin in the center of the foil. Then fold the edges of the foil upwards so it forms a pouch for the coin. Remove the coin.
3). Then generously coat the bottom of the pouch where the coin will set with common table salt. Mortons works the best. I don't know why ok.
4). Set the coin back in the pouch on top of the salt. Now pour Clear Vinegar into the pouch making sure the vinegar covers up to the top part of the coin.
DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF VINEGAR.!!! IT "MUST" BE CLEAR VINEGAR ok.
5). Then pour more salt on top of the coin. Now fold the foils edges down on top of the coin making sure it makes full contact.
6). Wait about 20 - 30 minutes. Open the pouch. Remove the coin.
7). Now take a wooden tooth pick and GENTLY "push" the remaining dirt off the coin. Rinse the coin off.

You will be AMAZED. The coin will look like the day it was made without leaving any scratches on the coin ok. You may have to repeat these steps ONCE but I "guarantee" you will be VERY happy with the results ok. these steps are not as hard as they sound ok.

Tools Needed : Tin Foil, Wooden Tooth Picks, Morton Salt, Clear Vinegar.

Now with the Nickel use the Lemon Juice Method ok.
The Nickel contains Copper and Silver coins do not. Hence this Method will not work for the Nickel.
It is ONLY for blackened Silver Coins, Jewelry etc..
Good Luck. Great Finds. PEACE:RONB :leprechaun-hat:

PS: I hereby Vote BANNER.!!! Congrats.

Davers, Thank you for the information and the compliment! I took them to a rare coins store. They recommended PCGS. I know it may not make sense monetarily, I might clean them for my own enjoyment. :) I really don't know what I did to deserve such an amazing spill, lol.
