The best Fisher for me???

What information did you use to say the AT Pro has the most accurate ID at depth? I found it to be just the opposite and can think of several detectors that will ID at depth better than the AT Pro. I had a Eurotek Pro and found it to be too sensitive to EMI to the point that the sensitivity had to be lowered to the point of neutering the detector. I would highly recommend the CZ if you are looking to go deep. I have owned and used most of the top end detectors and I can tell you from experience that the CZ5 will go as deep or deeper than the ones that I have used including the XP Deus and the Etrac.

I agree with Pescadore. Here is some info on the CZ3D. It is basically the same as the CZ5. I wouldn't know what to do if something should happen to my CZ, even though I have the Vaquero and Cortes for backup. IMO, the CZs are under-rated machines. Hope you find this helpful, DiggerinVa.

I have an F5 and a CZ7a, and am really in a quandary about what to do. I really like the F5 ("Slick") for its display, lightness and user interface. But I am getting far more use out of the CZ ("The Beast" or "Nickelmania") because of its seeming immunity to EMI, salt beach mode and amazing ability to hit nickels. Depth is not a big issue to me right now since I'm doing parks and schools this time of year and will rarely go after a target at 6 inches, but it would be when beach season comes again or next year when we move from Southern California to Texas. For right now the F5 is a fine backup.

Foiled Again

What is the F5 like for depth and how accurate is it when pinpointing? Don't hear that much about that machine. I really like the Visual Id from what I've seen from Youtube.

Good depth but not astounding. It can hit a 6" coin (about as deep as they get around here) with accurate ID. Don't really know about deeper. On the standard coil, the sweet spot for pinpointing is a little bit back (toward the stem) from the center of symmetry of the coil. The methods of finding it available on line or on video work well. I usually X targets with no problems.

Target ID on the F5 is highly accurate in the higher range--if it says the target is zinc, it's a Zincoln 90-plus percent of the time...and if it says dIme, it's a dime, or a copper penny. ID in the nickel range is not as good--for TID 30, maybe 25 pct nickels and the rest pull tabs. For the CZ, it calls nickels right more like 75 pct of the time--advantage CZ.

"You have to dig nickels to find gold" they say...but the only two gold rings I've found this year were with the F5, both tot rings in the Foil range.

I've got the F75 limited and with the 4.5 coil it is hard to beat in trashy parks and old school yards. It has a few more bells and whistles than the F75 and the F70 but I don't use modes PF,CL,JE,BC much at all. So that leaves BP,DE and I use these the most. So you could do well with the latter two Fisher choices. Don't get me wrong, I really like my Limited. It's light too with the sniper coil on it. I'm not advertising for Fisher but you ask. I've got the AT Pro also and its great too. Good luck to you all and Merry Christmas.

I have been looking into the F-5 and have to say the couple I have tried out I have loved,,I've used a T2 and don't get me wrong great machine,,I'm a knobs guy....lol I just like the price and features, plus I like the lower frequencies 5.9 6.7 and 7.8 khz
But its hard for me to look past the F-4
