Went out this afternoon on a field I knew would be tough. Not due to the lack of metal in the soil, but due to the amount of pebbles in the soil. To say digging signals was hard would be an under-statement. Anyway here's the finds, best two a Charles 11 copper farthing and a Edward 1V second reign 1471-83 hammered silver half groat, Canterbury mint. Also had a jetton and a broken jetton, and an half penny of Queen Victoria, plus one Roman grot.

HH Robert.

I like ole green Charlie! Don't know if I'll ever see him in these parts but will keep looking.

I'm curious Rob, in viewing your pictures you were obviously on a hill in the middle of a field.
How did you happen to decide that this would be a good place to hunt? ???
I wouldn't have given the spot a second glance and yet you found treasure there! :notworthy:
Did you research it or was it through word-of-mouth that you decided to hunt in that particular area?

The hill is very close to an old village. All of the fields close to the village produce finds.

Good hunting.... From the finds and junk found, would there have been a settlement or an old road through there?
The field is very close to an old village, dating back to Saxon times.
