I knew we were in for a snow storm today, so I got out yesterday for an afternoon hunt. Roaming the hills around VC is a real crapshoot. There were people all over this place seeking their fortunes, but the obvious places have been pounded pretty hard over the years. I try to find small spots that aren't obvious at all which requires a lot of hiking around and up and down steep and rocky terrain.
I happened across an area on a hillside in deep brush and pulled what I could.

First is a bunch of clothing fasteners/hardware. None of the hardware has patent dates, which is unusual for the stuff I find in this area.

Next up are some pipe stems, one White, one McDougle, and an unknown, as well as a smashed pewter spoon bowl and some boot sole protectors.

Next is some random hardware and what I think is a ceramic assay crucible. I find these regularly in this area, as well as the larger flared style.

This piece is a mystery to me. It looks like a piece of native copper in quartz, but I have no idea of its purpose. Note the two holes opposite each other on the brass bezel.

And lastly, a pink arrowhead tip.

I hope the snow melts quickly so I can get out again soon. I'm already getting cabin fever after only a half a day inside! :laughing7:

The cap with the quartz looks like gold also.
Lighting might be doing it.
Nice grouping of relic suspender fastners.
Liking the arrowhead.

What's with white profanity?
Pleased keep it, or melt it.
