The ATPro's first creek hunt.

I spent 5 hours in the creek today and found out its a LOT harder then it looks on YouTube. I I ended up with a few things, a couple of whatsits, what looks like a hog tusk, pottery, a marble. I did get a button :( but thought it was just a flatie so I started scraping the "crust" of but turns out I was just scraping of the front of the button :( I'm really kicking my self for ruining my only good find but at least I know there are old stuff in there so I'll be back soon. Any idea on the big brass piece? Thanks for looking and HH!!!

I'm glad you had fun and hopefully you can get out there and find better stuff soon!

cool button ..try to talk to some old timers and see were they went swimming back in the day

do they make water proof headphones for the AT ?
if so - you might find it easier to get those and a mask
I use a cz21 - way back when - tried it your way and its tuff
being able to see makes all the difference in the world

Hey, it is a lesson (turns out I was just scraping of the front of the button) you will never forget and never repeat - otherwise it looks like you had fun flyinryan2. Thanks for sharing...

ME IN SMALL RIVER/CREEK - BOTTOM WAS VERY ROCKY
YOU'D BE HERE FOREVER TRYING TO SCOOP - I WOULD FAN WITH MY DIVE BOOT
THEN PULL ROCKS ASIDE - MANY TARGETS WEDGED BETWEEN ROCKS ON END
COOL FIND HERE WAS - I HAD A TARGET IN SOME BIG ROCKS - FANNED AND WHEN
DEBRIS CLEARED - I SAW 3 QUARTERS ON END TOGETHER - A CLAD ON EITHER SIDE AND A SILVER ONE IN THE MIDDLE

Thanks Casper for the advice! I need to get a goggle/snorkel for next time. Most of where I was at was about a foot deep but the areas that were more then three feet were very hard to see what I was doing. I had a lot of good "penny" sounding targets that were deep in the rocks but I had to give up on them. I may want to waterproof my pro pointer to help find the targets easier.
